21 MP is basically out of the question for new Z Ultra as increasing the thickness will look like they are going backward. 13 MP is probably the max, and it better have flash. Sony really need to step their game up with the flash. Most company and gone with dual flash already. |

Esato was founded in the year 2001 and was mainly targeted at Sony Ericsson mobile phone users. We started with a couple of services offering free ringtones, grayscale logos for the Ericsson T39 and R520 models. We have expanded the service to include free color backgrounds for over 50 mobile phone models. Other popular services are the discussion forum for anyone interested in topics about mobile phones and accessories. Even if the focus was targeted at Sony Ericsson owners, we now have separate forums for owners of other brands. The most popular sections are the News, Blog, discussion forum, Free themes, free color backgrounds and a service where users can upload images from a PC and download a converted image down to their mobile phone.

As long as the ultra is the same thickness as the new note 5 or thinner than a larger camera module can be fitted into the device. As for the flash, yes a more powerful flash would be nice but from personal experience, I hate using the flash unless I have to, ie as a flashlight
@amirprog, I am sure you remember that post about sony cutting down on leaks, well here is the effect, little or no information that is concrete.
@Aycaramba Expecting SD820 was a bit too much on people's part, even I hoped it would have made it if the device would have gone on sale later but nah it won't happen, the chip is for 2016. The Z5 was designed before the SD820 started even sampling, so expecting it to feature it would have been impossible.
As for what you posted, there is no evidence of the old IMX220 being used in the Z5. The IMX230 is probably a smaller module due to the sensor being smaller, so sony will most likely opt for this to reduce the thickness of the phone. Besides, PDAF is where the industry is going in mobile, and most if not all competitors are using it, funny enough, they are using Sony sensors, so expecting the IMX230 in the next z5 is a no brainer. As for 3gigs of ram, randomuser said 4GB back in may, so i'd expect it to occur. The SD810 is the best chip Sony can get at this point in time, with proper phone design and heat dissipation, the throttling can be controlled.
I have faith Sony will bring something decent to the table. If not, I'll keep my Z3 until next year's MWC and see what comes then.

But what about the Ultra? Can't some insider tell us that it exists and will be released? I will settle for its existence, no need for specs.
They should put the USB-C also.[ This Message was edited by: thetube on 2015-07-27 17:58 ] |

Not even the Not 5 will have USB-C, so don't expect Sony to use it on the ultra, I feel USB-C is more of a 2016 thing. |

@ascariss
Yeah, i know, but a fake rumor appeared today and its a bit annoying while there is 0 leaks from credible sources who proved themselves in the past and 0 ultra info aside of code name of months ago. i think sony axed some employees who were sharing info in the past.
@thetube
Well said, i will settle for its existence as well.

Unless water proof USB Type C is out, no way its going to be in any of the Z. |

@Gitaroo
usb type c can be waterproof:
"The newly designed USB Type-C connector can integrate the user experiences and offer "one connector for all mobile devices." Its interface size is 24-pin, 8.3 x 2.5 mm, supporting tens of thousands plug times and having waterproof and non-directional plug-and-play features" link: http://www.digitimes.com/supp[....]sh=2014/06/27&pages=PR&seq=200
sony should have picked it for z5 since they are emphasizing ip rating a lot and be the pioneer of it in mobile devices now and not next year or who knows when. |

About 820
Jiutang says that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be the first handset to use the chip when it launches next March.

820 won't ship before december. I wonder if some firms will try to pull a LG and get some devices with the 820 out at CES for a late january, early february date. |

Of course it can. But suppliers can't keep up with the demand for regular ports, not to mention separate part for Sony. |
