Offtopic but it seems that PY7-PM078x is the M4 Aqua, unless this was known, apologies.
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/ea[....]%2Fr5Q%3D%3D&fcc_id=PY7-PM0787
clicking RF exposure and going to page 39, reveals the dimensions of the device and I compared them to the real M4 aqua and they are super close, 146x73 vs 145.5 x 72.6 for the real device. Next it seems the diagonal does not correspond to the outside dimensions, neither does it correspond to the number of inches of the screen
158.6 mm - 6.24 inches. O_o, so perhaps this diagonal on the image, just like in the previous device is the diagonal of the entire device and not the screen, albeit measured in some odd way, perhaps not from edge to edge?
PY7-PM-079x seems to be the Z3+/Z4 family
PY7-PM-085x is the E4g
PY7-PM-063x is the E4
PY7-PM-080x ??
PY7-PM-086x - dimensions from documents are 77.2 x 149.9cm, diagonal of 164.5cm (6.47 inches)
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/ea[....]y7TH4A%3D%3D&fcc_id=PY7-PM0863
--> click RF exposure and then page 37.
PY7-PM-0817 - D6683 - Z3 Dual
PY7-PM-084x - no idea, also can't find dimensions in docs
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/ea[....]SrjYVQ%3D%3D&fcc_id=PY7-PM0841
PY7-PM-089x - the large device previously discussed, 164.19 x 70.50, diagonal of 178.33, my bet this is the ultra.
PY7-PM0875 - single sim, PY7-PM0870 is dual sim according to the docs
PY7-PM0874 - single sim, PY7-PM0873 is dual sim
if anyone finds anymore info, let me know, I'll edit this post to add the info to it. |

S810 again, but new Ultra might be ok with larger surface to spread heat. |

Or, 810 is finally getting ready without throttling...
But for what ever reason, I can't find any logic in insisting on releasing a flagship with an SoC that will be replaced in two months with much better successor...

@Xajel
This is my thought as well, Sony has optimized the design of the new device to better dissipate heat but it seems xperiablog says no in a tweet to me. They have seen the device they wrote but can't post the photos.

As for the SD820, it is sampling right now, but wasn't earlier in the year and the Z5 was probably planned and designed before the SD820 started sampling, so this is why the SD810 is being used. I feel Sony has a much longer process for development versus other companies.

we expect a full metal flagship , sd820 , a big curved sensor , biometric scanners, small bezels with new design instead of z3++ . is it really hard for sony mobile? |

Love these little flurries of rumours that crop up every once in a while
It's looking more and more likely that a new Ultra phone is on the way, and I am DAMNED excited by that. I'm just hoping that it won't skimp on any specs compared to the flagship. My Z Ultra is ready to be replaced. |

I think the major upgrade would be the camera and the screen, everything else would be the same. I don't understand why they charge premium based on the previous leaks. Perhaps the ultra version would be the major upgrade for this year with 820 that's why it's overprice |

The problem is what, It has been now more than 3 years in a row that Sony is building the ultimate smartphone.. while we know there's no such thing, but Sony surprise us with a well made phone that has some major flaws, either not perfect camera, or not perfect Audio or flappy ports or less than perfect displays or not new enough SoC.. and when they get to the last one.. it was a faulty overheating one.. and now we're on the 5th generation of the same device with just upgrades...
Dear Sony ( and Sony Ericsson before )... we used to say WOW when we see your phones before.. and we miss that reaction for more than 3 years now... 5 flagships with almost the same design ?? and also the 6th is coming also !!
Sony missed the fleet, and keep wasting money on repeating the same delays and decision that make them keep missing the fleet more...
We know that any change will need months for every mobile company... but see even when ( we can't stop it now, we already spent too much money and efforts on this Z3+ and Z5 phones, and we need something to sell this quarter or shareholders will be mad ) comes... more peoples will be disappointed to the point ( no hope from Sony, and they're working on making this no-hope a slogan for them )...
If you need to change, then drop everything, break it... and create your new schedule, if you keep sticking to the lift-overs, then you will never ever change.. it will have a bad quarter profits I know... but a bad quarter or two is much much better than bad 3-5 years of no profits or more looses...

Z2 was the ultimate phone from them IMO, better than all major competitors launching at the time. May not be the best in a single aspect but overall its a better device and still holding up well even until today. Too bad they screw up the launch so badly. Z3 may not be the best in specs vs the other competitors launching around the same time, but IMO is was the most polished and upgrade from Z2. Wide angle lens and insane battery life fastest memory improved ergonomics etc. Z3+ just got screwed by S810.

Same with me. Better speakers, better camera and metal chassis is enough for me to upgrade. Sony taught me to be humble )). Wouldn't mind the fingerprint sensor. Hope the black version comes with bare metal frames. |

The 820 is not coming in two months.
You'll be lucky to even see it this year. |

Take a look at the Pocketnow video comparison of the Z3+ and S6. They showed that the Z3+ gives images equal to or better than the S6. The only criticism of the device was the overheating processor and that the S6 has a better display but nothing comes close to the S6 display anyway. With the exception of the Exynos and display, the Z3+ is better having used both for a while plus I am not a nerd, geek or someone who benchmarks everything. Try it and you will see how good it is, its funny how people comment and complain without ever touching the phone and how people say the S6 is the greatest. There are six people and counting from work who have dropped their Edge on the side and totally cracked the entire screen, they all changed for the regular S6.
Sony this year did much better in terms of sales, that is very commendable. Look back to what they wanted to achieve since the darker days and then tell me that they failed. They are on the right track, they have pulled themselves out of a deep hole. That's a big step forward for Sony, if the Z3+ had a new design then people would've taken more notice and something tells me that the Z5 will be just that, similar hardware with a fresh design and UI. 4GB RAM with SD810 is what people should settle for, no point wishing for much more because there just isn't the hardware out there. If the phone doesn't heat up then it will be awesome. Its coming soon, leaks and surprises. Be fair in judgement, don't write it off yet. |

Absolutely Agree. The Z series rocks. My black Z2 are eyed on even from Iphone 6 users from my school. Sony definitely have regained some of its lost fans from the days
About the processor, well Sony "probably" made some fixes already. AFAIK, they had this liquid cooling technology before on a Z series. The Z3+ was very thin so I don't think it made the cut

Why is Z censored? Or is it not Z? |
