I mean, in a month we will know more because if you follow mobile phones announcements for the last 10 years like i am you know that about a month or more before a big mobile event some substantial leaked info regarding upcoming devices are posted. of course, not all will be reviled until announcement and some devices there are for 2016 if that list has any truth.

I see you're assuming they'll be ready for IFA which is very unlikely.

Has that side any credibility? Besides that some "details" sound unlikely....."the phone will follow the same old OmniBalance design with 4,500 man battery Inside." 4500mAh battery after they shrank it with the Z3+ but keeping the same old OnmniBalance design?! No way.

Esato was founded in the year 2001 and was mainly targeted at Sony Ericsson mobile phone users. We started with a couple of services offering free ringtones, grayscale logos for the Ericsson T39 and R520 models. We have expanded the service to include free color backgrounds for over 50 mobile phone models. Other popular services are the discussion forum for anyone interested in topics about mobile phones and accessories. Even if the focus was targeted at Sony Ericsson owners, we now have separate forums for owners of other brands. The most popular sections are the News, Blog, discussion forum, Free themes, free color backgrounds and a service where users can upload images from a PC and download a converted image down to their mobile phone.

4500mAh.

Screams bullshit.
Sony wants a thin design, as seen by the Z3+/Z4

Sony to Raise ~$3.6 Billion to Invest in Stacked Sensor R&D and Production

http://image-sensors-world.bl[....]-billion-to-invest-in.html?m=1

I think, it's not impossible for Sony to give better camera optics on the Z5 afterall they're making lots of money out of mobile cameras. It would be stupid for them not to realize that people want good cameras and that other companies have slightly better cameras than them.

Now GSMArena picked up the story. 4500mAh is unrealistic if the phone is to be the same thickness as the Z3+, unless the device will grow in size, ie 5.5 inches. 4500 could make sense for the Ultra model.

Looks like other sites are picking up the technodify.com article which is just speculation and various specs posted on various forums and sites. All they did was gather them together and post an article to attract visitors.

They state no source for these leaked specs, so I call BS.

The 820 should make it to the market this year, probably late in the year but we don't know in what capacity. If there are no issues with the chips like overheating or whatnot and Samsung can crank out enough to satisfy all the requirements from manufacturers then perhaps yes we will see the 820 in a sony this fall/winter. Introduction can be in September it will probably go on sale much later once enough 820s are available. We still have 5 models from sony to be introduced this year, Lavender, E56xx and the 3 Z5 products. Announcing 5 phones at IFA would be something but not sure something Sony should do, either focus on the Z5 line or only the 2 mid range models and then a seperate show for the Z5 later on.

This is a good article to read to have an idea of Sony Mobile's CEO plans moving forward.

more of the rumors posted above:

Sony’s rumored to have gone smartphone mad, may be preparing the Xperia Z5 for release

It seems that the author and I share the same opinion... that it's "too early" for a Z5.

cheers!

Compact, main and ultra variant codes were already published for 2015 launch (e). as of now, it is the most reliable info. mid range devices and/or smartwatch 4 cannot be the star of ifa event. imo they need a lot of media coverage for flag devices. they cannot disappoint consumers and media once again as they did at mwc. if s820 is for 2015 then nothing is too early. regardless, it is not too early for a new first true phablet flag from sony. it is still half a year strategy for main. they may start one year or continue with x + x + strategy which is still better then last year because the media won't expect much more from a + device.
