I think it is still the old Snapdragon 810. Xiaomi just found a way to deal with overheating. Read the article again and it says 5 thermal patents...i would rather see the first version of 820 in Z5 instead.
Anyway, I like Sony's midrange offering now. They have better bezels than the last years flagship phone. Lol..C4 should be released in North America. |

Well if Qualcomm fails to bring 820 on time then Sony will go with the v2 of 810 I think.
That C4 is pretty decent. If priced same as C3 it's a killer.
By the way I am xperiazultra can't login so I have a new account. |

Isn't Qualcomm supposed to Use Samsung’s Foundries for its Next High-End Chip the SD820? Knowing how much Samy has invested in its soc business in the last few years Qualcomm could be on track with its scheduled H2-2015 production start. |

I agree with waiting for 820, and for me; even if it meant delaying the phone to early next year...

SD820 is due for testing in H2 2015 which is anytime from the 1st of July. IFA 2015 runs from 4th-9th of September that gives Sony approx 2 months to test the SoC and get it ready for pre-production launch at IFA. The phone it self will most likely be ready to buy late September or early October giving Sony upto 3 months of development to make sure its ready for release. I do think it'll launch in 2015 along side the new Bond movie which is released in November. The question is providing Qualcomm allow sampling to begin asap in H2 can Sony have a new product to show the world come IFA in such a short space of time.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

The only problem with the old SD810 was heat so if they really found a way to deal with it - that's a good news. They also worked together on SD615 (which is overheating as well) and now it not only produces less heat but also scores higher in benchmarks (around 40 000 in Antutu with FHD display, old 615 with HD display scores just 30 000).

I don't think so, Z5 is supposed to stay on the market for the (almost) entire 2016 and it wouldn't be compatible even with revised 810. If Qualcomm fails to deliver SD820 on time, Sony will wait and show Z5 at CES.

H2 2015 can mean either June or October. I don't think we're going to see Z5 at IFA, October/November release is much more likely. Or even later (depends on SD820's avability).

With note 5 and Z5 series coming up I don't think Qualcomm will delay SD820 release date. |

Well,if qualcomm can't produce SD820 for 2015 devices,it will most definitely remake the SD810,maybe at 16nm to deal with thermal issues.Let's not forget SD801 was announced and launched at the same day(MWC '14),so i don't see why a SD811 or whatever can't happen anytime. They lost their biggest customer with Samsung,I think they'll do their best to get note 5(even though i think Samsung doesn't really need them, since they're solving the modem problem). |
