How a typical corporate blah blah blah is good news exactly? (the stock has not reacted in any meaningful form, naturally) From red to 2.5b in black, sure... On the other note, I plan to have 3 billion in profit by the end of 2015 too, and my chances of doing such are greater than that of sony... |

The actual financial results are going to be posted on the 30th. We shall see what's what then.

Sony raised the forecasts on Thursday, and on Friday SNE stocks responded by jumping up by 4.5-5%, look it up. Not sure what you're talking about....As to how they suddenly managed to go from the red to 2.5B net income? Well, corporations can do stuff like cut costs and there is also the possibility for sales for certain things to be much higher than initially anticipated. In the last quarter Sony sold 6.4M PlayStation 4's which brings in an average revenue of about 2.5B on its own (this doesn't account for territories like the UK and Europe, where the PS4 retails for more than $399 due to importation taxes and exchange rates). Add to the success of the Imaging Division and the fact that the Bravia division has cut costs down to size and is now profitable. So you see, its not outside the realm of possibility.
At the very least, Sony have Billions of dollars in actual tangible revenue coming in from product sales to generate this potential profit. I'm pretty sure you don't.
If these predictions are met, or even exceeded, what would you have left to say to that?

The stock was up mere 2%, which is within its limit of daily fluctuation. The market's reaction to a seemingly huge announcement (no money vs 2.5B is actually huge for a copping block company like Sony, if you think about it), yet they took it with a minuscule 2% reaction instead of a regular 10-12%. Why? Because they know it's full of BS. Why? Because they see the previous record of Sony promising big and never delivering/cutting estimates. In other words, the Street wants to see the money, numbers. Not promises, expectations or estimates. Those - are poetry.
As of my comparison, well, you can look up the word sarcasm in your dictionary, because it fits perfectly. My chance of getting 3b by the end of 2015 is close to 0% probability. The chance of Sony getting into black by 2.5b at the end of 2015 is equal, or less... |

Still surprised the resident troll isn't banned.
If you bothered to read the news carefully, the news came from an unknown source from nikkei after trading hours.
1) How can anyone buy shares after trading hours
2) Investors generally don't do speculative trading. Maybe you do, but I done. |

^ But it's quite entertaining to see folks like him. This thread would surely be boring without some trolls especially when there have been no leaks for days now. |

Perhaps Xperia q4 flag? Looks like what maloq's previous post. This phone looks like Xperia S 2.0 http://www.phonearena.com/new[....]stead-of-the-Xperia-Z4_id68690 Perhaps it's fake or perhaps it's e5803? Time will tell if it's the real deal or not. If it's true, I think they will go for this sensor http://www.sony.net/Products/SC-HP/IS/sensor2/index.html

Esato was founded in the year 2001 and was mainly targeted at Sony Ericsson mobile phone users. We started with a couple of services offering free ringtones, grayscale logos for the Ericsson T39 and R520 models. We have expanded the service to include free color backgrounds for over 50 mobile phone models. Other popular services are the discussion forum for anyone interested in topics about mobile phones and accessories. Even if the focus was targeted at Sony Ericsson owners, we now have separate forums for owners of other brands. The most popular sections are the News, Blog, discussion forum, Free themes, free color backgrounds and a service where users can upload images from a PC and download a converted image down to their mobile phone.
