@Hilmawan thanks for posting the crops! GSMarena is the only one that has all the phones.. my hope was that DPreivew will do the same for every phone they test, but alas.. the don't.
You can see here: http://connect.dpreview.com/p[....]galaxy-s5-camera-review?page=9
that they are missing a few phones that they've tested already, including the Z3 : (
But for me the 1520 does a little better in GSMarena's studio shots, but the difference is too small for a legitimate argument. In order to argue in terms of IQ these days you need a significant difference in image quality.. like putting the 1020 against anything else bar the 808 for example will give a result very few would argue with.. but if you are comparing phones with almost identical sensor sizes its going to be almost impossible to pick a clear winner.
I think that the 1520/930/Icon use the exact same camera/lens combination, but I could be wrong, or they might be on a different version of WP which would play a role as well.. I am not 100% sure.

You're absolutely right even DPReview seem half-hearted when it comes to smartphone camera.
For me it was very disappointing, because what is the point of making the mobile version of DPReview if they can't do better job than some other non photography site.
I'm 100% sure that in terms of quality there is no better phone than 1020 and 808 (except maybe the new monsters from Panasonic).
But i don't agree with your opinion about 1520 in GSMarena's studio shots, because the Z3 look sharper, cleaner and has better detail to me.
But that maybe because we have different views about what is better.
What happened to 1520/930/Icon is also happens to Z1 Z1/Z1C/Z2. |

Quality of a photo is very subjective.vary's from one person to another. No photo can be perfect to all. Some might like a slightly underexposed pic for better skies and some might like slightly over exposed ones for better details of everything under the sky.So one of them would be a "better camera" to someone and the latter would be the better for some one else..both of these ppl will fight on a forum for eternity .Same with low light shots..some might prefer a more noisy pic if it can brighten up an object while some might like a less noisy pic even if its slightly underexposed..also a lot depends on the subject you are shooting..a lot depends on what you want.
My point is..all the flagship phone cams out there are great..all have different strengths and processing algorithms.Just chose what suits you best and stop fighting
Peace

Well said Ranjith!
How many look at the photo quality under a microscopic. Take in the big picture. For most this is more than adequate for showing in a digital photo frame or tablet.

I had already 2 NC headphones, one from Sony Ericsson and one from Bose,
But this is my first headset the combined bluetooth with noise canceling.
Did not try it yet,but it sits good on my head.
And I got them for free from my provider.
it is for the early birds |

@pt020
Congratulations! White was my second choice.
You'll be surprised at the battery life in everyday use, really good. Use a high powered charger though, it makes quite a difference.

Thank you!
My choice was the green but my provider had only black and white...
but white is the best against fingerprints.
Battery is also very good on my Z1 compact so not much news here, and yesterday I was busy all afternoon and still have 48% this morning (must activate the stamina mode too) |

Unlocking the bootloader of the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact decreases low-light camera performance, developers warn
"According to an Android developer, Magnus Sandin, toying with the bootloader of the compact powerhouse might result in degraded low-light performance of the device's camera, which will lead to unsatisfactory image results."
Oops, be careful.

My only gripe so far is that the coating used for the glass, whatever it is, repels fingerprints OK but makes the Z3C very slippy.
This, coupled with the fact that the metal rim, between the sides and the screen, doesn't seem very hard wearing, means that the good looks could be ruined if you dropped the phone onto concrete just a couple of times.
Get it covered very soon is my advice. I've ordered a good wrist strap and the SCR23 style cover is also on my shopping list.
