I have got my Z3 compact, but I can't turn on the HDR mode in the camera. I have tried manual mode, but no luck. Any tips?

You can get to HDR mode from the Manual settings menu and only when you pick 8MP resolution

How do you activate the 12800 ISO? I've set the cam to 8.0MP in manual mode but the option only up to 3200 is there.

Just like for HDR, go to manual mode with 8MP.

Nope, I have set the SCN to Off in Manual Mode and the resolution to 8.0MP and it is still not there.

Yup, I had already tried that and the ISO option is blanked out. Do you think it's built into this mode?

Z3 camera is awful, Sony never seem to improve in their cameras in my opinion, no wonder they are losing so much money.

^ funny thing is that all sony smartphones produce awful photos in allsymbian and windowsphone sites.

look at these samples taken by a photography blog that does not promote any particular brand:
http://www.photographyblog.com/previews/sony_xperia_z2_photos/ - IMPRESSIVE

they're nowhere as bad as how that site tried to portray the z2 before.

those nokia pureview fans must still be hurting from when the z2 overtook the pureview in the dxomark ranking. the author would even refuse to admit the S5 winning when it obviously wins a comparison on that site. the author simply says he'd leave the decision to the readers.

i've seen the z3's performance in various other samples and i'm not going to quickly believe a site that obviously tries to promote dead nokia's remnants. i know it's not that great with producing punchy/eye-catching colors but it's not as bad as what that site says it is.

compare that z2 review to other reviews and photo samples:

http://www.photographyblog.co[....]alaxy_s5_review/sample_images/ - GOOD QUALITY
http://www.photographyblog.co[....]kia_1520_review/image_quality/ - VERY GOOD
http://www.photographyblog.co[....]mia_1020_review/image_quality/ - VERY GOOD

i'd believe a review that actually shows the real capability of a camera by showing the performance across ISO levels and posting various samples.

i won't say the z3 is better than the better spec'd lumias because that's stupid but i definitely wouldn't believe that it's as bad as how that lumia fan's site wants to make it appear.

DxoMark is a bad joke

Since when a site that says Apple Iphone 6 Plus has the best camera on a cell has any credibility

Stop writing bullshit... Z3 and Z3 Compact has great cameras, but they are no match for the Nokia 1020 PureView and that even a blind man sees and admits

P.S: Not a Chance. Physics Wins. Physics Always Wins

The Z3 is not awful, bit its still a bit behind the mainstream Nokias with the current software. The 1020 and the 808 are in a different league altogether.
