It seems the stereo speakers' quality of Z3/Z3 compact are not any better than Z2 according to hands-on vids by youtubers. they are loud but the sound output is not any better. i hope the retail version of the two phones have better sound output than the pre-production ones. I think this year is Sony's chance to really make a name for itself in the Apple and Samsung dominated US market. Z3/Z3 compact specs are really top notch in paper but I hope the same goes in actual performance.

Note: I am not trying to be a debbie-downer here but I just watched a youtube vid demonstrating z3 compact speakers and they are not any better than my htc 0ne mz' speakers. (considering the video being played was in full hd).

Which means Z3 speakers will be really good as Z2's sound good enough.

Comparing it to HTC is hilarious actually.

Overheating now after over 10 min, but not 5)

Sweet!
The reviewer says the speaker sound distinctly better than the one of the Z2 and while a call is incoming BOTH speakers are playing!

After few up[dates the Z2 speakers are really good..so this should be pretty slick!

But why cant they enables both speakers for ringtones in Z2 does it have anything to do with the auto call answer feature?

PS4 Remote play looks really amazing!
Considering that we're only few weeks from seeing Android L on devices I'll wait for Z3 running it before deciding whether to buy it or not
BTW, I think that Sony did a great thing deciding to release Dual version as the one that will go to retail shops as the main one and operators getting single sim version.

I have had a HTC with Boomsound speakers & they were amazing!! I had the Z2 and the speakers were s**t!! Don't say HTC sound on their stereo speakers is crap if you haven't heard them next to a Sony in person. Because I have and as usual you are always right according to YOU

Do not worry dude I'm sure everyone already know that the speakers on M8 is better than the Z2, because there is a water repellent membrane that muffle the Z2 speakers.
Without the waterproof membrane i'm sure the Z2 speakers will be better because the speaker driver on the Z2 is actually pretty good It can deliver 7.2 W peak output power into an 8 Ω speaker at a supply voltage of 3.6 V. The internal boost converter raises the supply voltage to 9.5 V.

But according to MF from pocketnow the Z2 with MDR-NC31EM is even better than M8 Harman & Kardon edition.
And now the Z3 also comes with DSEE HX (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) is a technology that lets you upscale low-res songs to near High-Resolution sound quality.
So i guess when it comes to Sounds the Z3/Z2 is one step ahead of the M8.

It's funny to read how different people can express so differently
One says the Z3's speakers will be really good based on the sound quality of the Z2.
The other one says the speakers were shit based on his experience which I still feel dubious to.

Looks like the Z3 is getting a wireless charging cover:

Hoping that by the time the Z4 (and related devices) rolls out they'll be able to integrate it into the phone

Does anybody have any more info on the dual sim version?

Mainly:

  • Does it have the same chipset?
  • Are both SIM slots compatible with the same bandwidths?
  • Are there any other hardware differences?

The dual SIM version is going to be a godsend for me who lives in two countries and has a heavily used SIM for both countries. As Aerosmith sang, I don't want to miss a thing.

My current solution is to use my Z2 Tablet for the foreign card and my Z for the home country card, but answering calls is less than convenient on a Tablet even with the BRH10.
I have a dig bick
You read that wrong

The Xperia Z3 is the most beautiful Xperia ever made and for those who wonder about the sound quality is. It seems good from the brief moment they tested it.

That would be great for me as well!!!!!
As I have two numbers......

@McKinley
Of course
People usually don't even remember their own opinion from one month before
Z2's speakers are one of the nicest around in smartphone territory so I believe Z3 will be even better.
