^ I remembered when everyone was hating on Z3 design but now they all like it. Don't judge a phone on leak photos next time. Sony always looks ugly on leaked photos but very beautiful on final retail model |

You're damn right I also could not find any Z3 speakers test or comparison.
But if I'm not mistaken Xperia Z2 Tablet using the same speakers driver as the Z2.
NXP TFA9890 That is actually pretty good, It can deliver 7.2 W peak output power into an 8 Ω speaker at a supply voltage of 3.6 V. The internal boost converter raises the supply voltage to 9.5 V, providing ample headroom for major improvements in sound quality.
So there is a possibility that the Z3 and Z3 Compact tablet is using the same speaker driver and if what i say is true thiis video might give you an idea how well the speakers in Z3.

The speaker indeed seems to be very loud, but hard to judge without comparispn.
Now we need a video comparing with the HTC M8

I do not expect the speakers are on the same level or even better than the M8.
Z3 has a IP68 certification, there is a water repellent membrane that will muffle the speakers.
Just like the Z2 although the speaker drivers are very good but the output is not too good.

Images look good close up but I'd rather wish they allowed the full original to be downloaded unless it can but I don't use google+. Zooming in helps but again not the best option.
DHL photo looks quite good.
Still some blurry aspects in some photos, so the sharpness is not there 100%. Shame they are all shot using superior mode and not the full 20.7.
Overall not bad. |

It seems the stereo speakers' quality of Z3/Z3 compact are not any better than Z2 according to hands-on vids by youtubers. they are loud but the sound output is not any better. i hope the retail version of the two phones have better sound output than the pre-production ones. I think this year is Sony's chance to really make a name for itself in the Apple and Samsung dominated US market. Z3/Z3 compact specs are really top notch in paper but I hope the same goes in actual performance.
Note: I am not trying to be a debbie-downer here but I just watched a youtube vid demonstrating z3 compact speakers and they are not any better than my htc 0ne mz' speakers. (considering the video being played was in full hd). |

I will wait until reviews come out and android L is released for the Z1 to see what that brings, if it brings little updates I may wait until decemeber to see how the price has dropped, if it is still too much, I will wait for the MWC and the new 64 bit models. |
