The thing about the OnePlus One is that, yes, a lot of techy people care about it and say it's the next big thing, BUT most people outside of the tech world don't know about it, don't care about it and won't go looking for it.
Their biggest challenge they'll face is selling enough of these to be profitable, and to do that they network support. Last I heard they didn't and were planning on selling only through their website. The only other way they can make this work is if they have millions of dollars of marketing money to spend, which I doubt.
Word of mouth is not enough to make a profit. Nobody outside of the tech world cares what CyanogenMod is either. People care more about what a phone looks like and well, this doesn't look amazing. It looks like any smartphone from the last five years. They really needed to put more effort into the design.
Colour me (very) skeptical.

Killer price point.. its almost 50% less than the other current android "flagships"
The camera is the most interesting thing for me, and from the samples it looks amazing, but non of the images had any EXIF data.. non.. no iso, no fstop, no model name..
We will have to wait for a proper test, but if its anything like the samples.. it will be very competitive. It also makes me think how come Sony are not using that same sensor in their phones ? |

Seen some shots with the so called 50mp res & they leave alot to be desired. But this phone has a nice design & spec but what more does it really offer others don't?? One cool feature it does have is the extremely fast charger which can charge upto 75% in 20 minutes. I seen a video here which shows it
