Samsung Galaxy S5 Announced |

I got mine today and as one who has been through all the Galaxy S range and all of the Note's, this is the best Galaxy so far. I know that its looks and design is not for everyone but to me the S5 looks great and I really like its design
Its ergonomics are great, it fits well in the hand and it has a great size/weight balance. The back is much less slippery than on previous models and it feels more premium.
The screen is stunning, its more sharp, more crisp, and brighter with more natural colors than earlier Amoled screens.
Respons is exellent throughout the whole UI. No hickups or lag.
TW has got an significant overhaul and has become more modern and better looking.
The fingerprint sensor works ok but is not the function I will be using the most but it's as a security feature I can see its potential.
Music player sounds exellent with lots of settings for personal preferences regarding sound quality. Nice lock-screen widget too.
Heart rate sensor works well and I can see myself using that a lot. Samsung have been critiziced for that one saying you might as well install a third part app, but I find it better not to cover the cameralens with a greasy finger.
I have not got to a chance to test the camera properly due to grey weather and rain, but it is not inferior to the camera on the S4. Hoping for blue skies the comming days so I can discover it skills more.
Just a short review this but will report more later

I read that Samsung made the bezels larger as they wanted to protect the display better from drops. Anyway,Rikken your worse than me you are as the other week you hated Sony then had a Sony now you got the new Galaxy again. I really don't like the S5 it truly is a boring handset to me nothing exciting about it. Note 3 is way better. I would never use finger print scanner or heart rate monitor it's just pointless overkill on features most won't use. That's my view but good luck with it

aussieland1, tx Personally I find it better than the Note 3. Better ergonomics, more crisp and clear screen, better version of TW, IP 67, better camera

I have not tested much but the G2 is better indoors and in low light and the S5 is better than G2 in good light |

Not very impressive then if the G2 beats it indoors and in lowlight? When I had the G2 it eas awful and horrible indoors and in lowlight, shutter speed and focusing is terrible and cannot handle any type of movement in lowlight at all and the lowlight video framerate was horrible too. |

Congrats Rikken.Glad you enjoying it.Unfortunitely I'm holding out for the Note 4 and the months are going by so slowly. Will be the first time I've held onto a phone for the duration of a two year contract.S4,Note 3 and now the S5. So painful

What colour did you get Rikken?? I never had any issues with the G2 camera but I have steady hands and patience The G2 was great but KitKat killed the battery life

The only thing I find to be impressive so far from what I have read is the battery life. It seems that they have implemented lucidlogix powerextends software per this article Link text...
Otherwise I find it to be a small cosmetic bump up from the Note 3 (note Size wise). It will sell well but for a Note 3 owner there is not much else to entice one to jump over.
