Why the hell nobody is able to take a picture of a test chart?

DPReview has some samples from the DXOmark testing. Not that many but may offer some justification to DXO's "incredible" (for others) assessment of the Z2 camera.

How hard is it for these people to understand that it wasn't about the IQ of the Z2 being better than 808?

I just purchased QX10. I'm really eager to compare it to Z2....
QX10 makes great, natural pictures.

Somebody should tell them this. Fast!

@CrownedAkuma:
Damn, this wouldn't even kill him!
Just kidding!
In Germany I can preorder for 599€ at Amazon, but there's not any date. Either way I'm gonna wait some time.

Btw:
I just found out the new HTC One has a manual mode which lets you adjust wb, iso, focus AND shutter speed.
Damn you HTC and your shitty sensors.

http://recombu.com/mobile/reviews/sony/xperia-z2/

5/5 stars
m8 has the same rating
s5 is 4+ stars

hmm ... but i have a feeling recombu is not that credible. they have a lot of mistakes with their data. in their s5 review, they have this line:

"but they still don’t hold a candle to Sony’s Xperia handsets; which are the best at snapping bright, sharp photos in gloomy conditions."

i'm not sure if we would agree to that assertion (except for the z2) even if we like sony.

A mighty 3,200mAh battery is packed away inside the phone, marginally bigger than the Xperia Z1’s 3,000mAh effort. With regular use, this battery still kept us going for a full day and change. We were especially impressed when we went to bed with 53 percent charge remaining, and woke with the exact same 53 percent waiting for us.

Put it simply, the Sony Xperia Z2 is a bloody gorgeous blend of tech and sexy design that combines to form our favourite smartphone of 2014 so far.

The improvement over the Z1 is obvious in terms of optics and overall IQ.

It can easily compete against the 1520, GS5, 5s, etc.

808 and 1020 are out of reach.

It seems to be very hard for me

As far as I understand, DXO are saying that the camera on the Z2 is in fact better than the one on the 808 ? But even if we consider that it is in fact better based on a very specific criteria, its still way too subjective to be taken seriously.

When you look at an image taken with an 808 and one taken with the Z2, do you see a difference ?

If someone asks you to recommend him/her the best cameraphone on the market (nothing else matters) would you recommend the Z2 over the 808 based on DXO's tests ?

The Qx 10 was using the exact sensor z 1 and z 2 are using now. It's only the software optimization which makes the difference. So you guys can go and See pictures taken with Qx 10 for the sensor maximum potential.

I'm a little bit disappointed with the sharpness only the pictures when compare to the s5. If you compare the pictures of the bridge at 1:1, the s5 captures detail (check out the tree on the right in the background) much better.

you can go to the succeeding landscape photos and see how the z2 has improved. look at the HDR shots in particular. the z2 shots look sharper than S5's.

hit or miss i guess ...

the s5 camera seems to have been upgraded there. the lowlight shots are no longer as noisy as the earlier samples. they're both good.

The S5 handles foliage better against the manual mode of Z2 and the colors are also darker. I'm quite impressed with both phones. The z2's noise(mosquito-like) has now decreased.

The S5 is better overall for me since it has cleaner and sharper look although a bit processed

Not everyone has a Nokia, four times zoom on my GS4 looks like shit
Btw. I would have a Nokia if there would be something like a Lumia 1030, 41MP, OIS and best hardware available. I wouldn't even bother changing to WP. What do you think about a 1030 cu015170?
