I don't have advanced knowledge in optics, but that sounds like this could lead to a blurry side, right?
But somehow weird, GSMArena apparently is always unlucky with Sony phones.
Has anybody with a Z2 the possibility to take a picture of a test chart like GSMArena?
Or has anybody seen similar samples from other websites/reviewers? Pics of test charts?

Even xperia blog has z2 with off centre camera but they have clearly stated that "IT DOES NOT EFFECT THE FUNCTIONALITY OR RESULTS IN ANY WAY" |

Ok, but the question remains. With anybody that can reproduce the results from GSMArena we could find out if this is always the case or just bad luck/defective.

I don't have access to any chart like that.
What are the exact Z2 settings of GSMarena shots?

GSMarena battery endurance: 89 hours ... the highest among 2014 flagship devices. even higher than the updated lg g2 and the note 3. see sony. that's what you get with the right display technology.
their conclusion on the camera is just as what i expected. i don't really get how they're getting those artifacts.
doministry, please try taking a photo of some chart or anything similar to that chart they're shooting. Maybe you can shoot some newspaper or a book with excellent print.
they're using the lowest ISO possible when taking the chart shots. i'm just not sure about the lighting.
Similarly to the 20MP images from the Xperia Z1 and Z1 Compact, the Xperia Z2 images exhibit out of focus areas randomly splattered here and there across the image. We can't really say why they appear but they look as if the camera has a lens issue. Upon some testing we found out they are not - we shot a Superior Auto 8 MP shot and a manual 8 MP shot - the latter had the smudging while the SA one didn't. We hoped Sony would have resolved the issue by now - it's their third consecutive model to have it.
maybe they need to update their firmware?

I'm really happy for Sony. Before we're used to reviews with a disappointing and underwhelming tone. Now, with the Z2, it's overall positive with sometimes a bit of an ecstatic tone.

Ranjith, is the low ringer volume (one speaker only) problem limited to phone calls or does it also happen with skype and other messengers? |

That is a brilliant result for the Xperia Z2's battery life, if only Sony had got it to stores earlier, could've scooped up a chunk of the Galaxy S5's 11million.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Xperia Z3 now, if this is what Sony has achieved with the Xperia Z2.

S5 has a better camera end of story that's confirmed now.
Unfortunately the Z2 camera is no better than the Z1. |

You say about updating their firmware but as GSMArena said this is their 3rd model and they all have the same issues it wasn't sorted in the Z1 or Z1 compact so won't be resolved in the Z2 either, poor show Sony. |

Yeah you could use some newspaper pages. Stick 9 pages all together on the wall, set lowest ISO possible, use as much artificial light as possible but don't use the Z2's flash.
(If you have too much time and don't know what to do )
