The speakers sound very good but isn't all that loud.Expected it to be a little more louder
I'd say it's a tradeoff between loud speakers and making the device waterproof (if the HTC one was waterproof it certainly wouldn't have the same speakers it has now).
Hmm...I need to try the M8,a small difference is acceptable.

Galaxy S5 Vs Xperia Z2 by phonearena
Sony is finally doing it: the Xperia Z2's IPS panel proves a step ahead of the AMOLED panel on the Galaxy S5.

not IPS, its the triluminos color. The superior Bravia W900 from 2013 proofs that VA panels + triluminos is the best compare to 2014 bravia that uses IPS. Black is far superior than IPS. Many people also said that the Z Ultra has better screen than Z2. In smaller scale I can see how viewing angles matters, but for something big like tv, I can't imagine many people watch their tv at anything greater than 50 degree. One thing that this tells me is AMOLED hype were all BS, all the color shifting, and pentile shit in those screen pretty much overwrite all whatever advantage they got over anything else out there. Its sad that Sony tv are selling as well as they should have. Look at the price at those Samsung OLED tv and a high end bravia. 9 out of 10 people that walk into store walk only walk out of the store with the cheapest tv they can find. No one pay for quality anymore.

@miromiromi , for this tool GSMArena takes several photos and then they put the best one. Z2 is an average performer, what a surprise.
Looks like Sony can't put their shit together, Z2 fares even worse than Z1 in this comparison. And Samsung Galaxy as always come with better quality even with smaller sensor. Now who could see that coming |

^ i don't know but i've never seen those artifacts in the 20MP photo gsmarena posted in the ones posted by doministry. that one on the gsmarena comparison tool is simply horrible.
anyway, what's the lowest z2 ISO? what's the lowest one in the s5? gsmarena mentioned that they take their samples for that comparison using the lowest ISO values.
there has never been a sony camera on gsmarena that took sharp photos. iphones and galaxies always tend to have sharp photos in the comparison tool. perhaps the only sharp photo their is the superior auto shot for z2 but only for the ISO 12233 chart. |

^ that's true, I think that the best Sony in their tool is Sony Xperia P. Very good quality for 8MP. I don't know why is that, probably bad quality handsets and lousy software. What's tragic is that other companies phones that use Sony sensor take much better photos. |

Sorry but there is something cra..ppy about GSMarena.
I mean each shot I make with Z2 especially with 8mpx is almost perfect.
No artifacts, no blurring...
Their method is not working I don't know.

Anyone else as furious as I am with google's decision to scrap text wrapping of webkit and replacing it with blink? I wouldn't care so much if they dumped text wrapping for their own Chrome browser, but apparently it affects other apps and it definitely affects all the web browsers I used to use on my xperia Z with 4.3.
Browsing some websites is just plain crap on 4.4 now, and I loathe mobile sites.
Opera does text wrapping but I use Naked or Habit browser and both are now broken.

It's one of the main reasons I use Opera Mini. I hate what they've done to the Web browsing in Android and MicroSD access. The text wrapping issue makes it unbearable use the built-in browsers.

I really like opera mobile as it renders pages properly and the ui is nice - I prefer the navigation buttons at the bottom, but I also like to disable images when browsing some Web sites and opera doesn't have that option outside of offroad mode.
Naked browser was perfect on 4.3. Why did google stuff it up so bad?
Strangely, the small app browser handles text reflow like a champ, but it is just so bare bones and runs in a floating widow. |

Problem:
I have 3 calendars in my google calendar.
3 groups.
They are perfectly synced on my Z.
Z2 syncs the main Gmail one, the other subgroups are NOT synced.
How to force it to sync?

Open the calendar app > tap those 3 lines at the top left (or swipe the screen from the left edge towards the right) and make sure the calendars you want to sync are selected. |
