Easto, im getting sick of seeing spam posted on here by new users & I keep reporting it via your Twitter feed.

Please pre approve ALL new user first few postings on the forum to stop once & for all the sad idiots who like to spam, this is the only forum I go on that keeps getting targeted.

New user joins & first post is spam which is normally about kitchens, its beyond a joke now!

Of all the spam they could do, they choose to advertise kitchen stuff. On a mobile phone forum.

Oh, and I think users should have the option to report stuff directly to mods. You know, option per post, per thread and/or per user.

This is about the 4th or 5th time I've had to use twitter to report kitchen spam on here due to the lack of report post function.

Its always the same pattern, brand new registered user & there first post is spam - so simple to stop, pre approve new users first few posts.

There is a limit of posts the first day and links won't work.
Everytime I log in i check for spam first and delete it.
There are only a few each week so there is nothing to worry, it's annoying though.

First day post limit doesn't work as the first post the spammer puts up is there spam.

I use many forums & yet its only this one that seems to be repeatedly targeted by spam.

Other forums I use either pre approve the first few posts from new users OR have a report message button for users to highlight issues to the mods about forum posts.

Easto has nether of these to protect it from spam abuse.

I know it's quite annoying these posts. They are coming from all over the www and that means different IPs addresses which makes it a bit unpredictable. Time to enhance the techniques

You can report them by sending a PM to us. There's a link on every forum sections.

The solution is NOT to pre-approve all new members postings ... it's to retrict them from creating new threads! Have them post in forums for 10 posts mininum before allowing to post a new thread. Makes it harder for them. Heck add another db criteria of forcing them to have 10 of those posts spread out in three different forum sub-sections.

Done and Done. Any spam in existing threads could be removed without affecting the conversations.

I just find it easier just not to bother using the forum any more.

I see todays kitchen spam post has gone already, this time I didn't bother reporting it as what's the point?

Of all the forums I go on its only THIS ONE that is repeatedly targeted by spammers.

Mods: Please close my account as I wont be back here again.

We can't be online every minute but do you let yourself get chased out because of some spam?
That's silly.

Any spam in existing threads could be removed without affecting the conversations.

I try to cover that. PM me if you find any.

I have reported one today. It would be easier if we just had a report post button rather than having to PM a mod.
