Since Google is "outsourcing" core Android apps I really don't need to have the newest Android version immediately . Although Kitkat for the Nexus 4 (my current device) was pushed a few month ago I updated it straight to 4.4.4 just a few weeks ago. I was totally fine with 4.3. The main reason why I will update to 5.0 at day one is mainly because of the new UX. I really hope Sony to let the new 5.0 flat design shine through their new Xperia UX

What do you mean by " Google is "outsourcing" core Android apps" ?!!! isn't google developing the whole why to outsource their application development ?!!

that doesn't make sense, however any source or reference for outsourcing will be appreciated though..

By outsourcing, he means they are putting the core apps in the Google Play Store. Google Keyboard, Google Email, Google Camera, Google Play Music, Google Now Launcher.

I guess it's just a matter of time before we see the Calculator, The Dialer and other apps I can't remember in the Play Store, for easy updates.

A good read regarding the update for the entire Z series, it might be a result of a new Android feature "device tree"

What really interests me is if and exactly when USB 3 Typ C will be on an Sony Mobile device?

To be honest a Xperia Z4 with micro USB 2.0 would be a dealbreaker for me...

^I like the Z3 and Z3 compact design, too.
It's just getting a bit boring and the glass on the back breaks easier than other materials.

^^
I'm personally fine with evolved design and the other info is expected but it's nice to know it will be bumped to 5.5" and 32gb for built in storage and audio amp are a bit surprising and welcome if true.
@xperiazultra
Who knows? nobody claimed that sony won't have a new phablet. this is just early info (if true...) about the next main flag. i also think sony needs a 6" phablet flag. these days every manufacturer has one aside of arrogant apple. there is enough gap between 5.5" and 6" to justify it.

If they can keep the size down by trimming more of the bezels then this will be to big for my tiny hands, Other wise I'll get the Z4 compact hopefully with a 4.8" 1080p display and if by magic keep the dimentions the same.
I'm so happy 'cause today
I've found my friends ...

Honestly, I do wish Sony went with 64GB instead, but the AMP is definitely a welcomed and long awaited addition! Now, let's just hope that they use the new USB 3.1 type C.

Now that's some black magic there! And, I'd like some of that!

Z4 Compact? Did I missed something? I thought the next compact update would hit the shelves at IFA 2015
