I think this time it's my fault On the last page I did a recap of Z3X rumors with pictures, benchmark and technical "Lekas" (digi-wo, Sony Alpha). Seem that some blogger thought it was the real McCoy.

Its that stupid ass picture that makes it worse. I want to know, which idiot made it.
I know its obviously fake, but some people may well be mislead into believing that it may be what the device actually looks like.

Until I see an actual device leak, I don't believe this phablet exists. Z4 for sure, Z4 tablet probably as well but a phablet who knows. The leaked supposed benchmark leak was just some random prototype and could have even been a Qualcomm device for all we know. I don't recall seeing a model number on the benchmark.

even hi-tech mail is picking the story up.
i hope this has the effect of convincing sony to actually produce the device.

^^ If sony have a brain they should read a few years ago that there is a market for phablets and that z4 ultra is a sure product scheduled for mwc announcement. it should be clear as the sky. otherwise, just leave the mobile industry.

I totally agree. By the way Sony needs more practical developers for stock apps. Like lifelog and such. Next phablet must have superior software treats.

There is no 100% certainty at this moment that a new phablet will arrive. Only rumours for now.

If Sony decides to make a new phablet and goes a similar route of super thin and too big, then it will fail again, no one needs a 6.4 inch phablet, 6 inches max is more than plenty enough. The only reason the ultra is selling better now is because it is not that expensive compared to other products, especially second hand. In poland, the cheapst I've seen it was around 1200pln or 287 euros, new. Not sure what it is used. But otherwise when it came out, the sales were not spectacular.

Sony cannot go for a super thin phablet again, it has to be thick enough to feature a flash and a very good to great camera, there is no ohh it's super thin, who cares.

the only reason the iphone 6 plus will sell is because it is an apple, not because it brings anything new to the table, because it does not.

At this moment, best to wait for android L and see what google brings to the table in regards to manual controls and camera api updates.

^^ Sony needs a phablet, period. be it 6.2"-6", be it this design or that design. anything a little smaller then 6.4" would be a good start. they must prepare a phablet for mwc regardless of anything if they want to stay in the game.

Is Sony back to its proprietary mentality? I know maybe just 1% of the customers unlock their bootloader, but that 1% are often the people influencing the other 99%. Dumb!

I wonder if their image algorithm is accessible without the DRM security. As if people actually likes their algorithm.

I remember the previous Zs also had similar issue. they probably didn't bother to fix it.
