Do we really need to tell you that's fake? Think...use your brain. Not even remotely plausible. |

I think someone mentioned the current boss of Sony mobile got demoted big time just before IFA and Kaz has some of his guys took over the division because of the laskluster performance for 2 years. Its true, Z2 mega detail probably the final nail for him.

I said it before, and will say it again - suzuki is f*cking idiot. I hope he gets fired immediately. His religious resistance to WP in the time of such crisis is buffing to say the least. He's the one to blame for the mess that sony mobile is today.

What wrong did he do? Why did KAZ even give him the top job? Sony cant be doing mistakes KAZ has to choose the best of the best, If they keep doing mistakes then XPERIA will also be sold off.

I think selling Vaio was a very good move. Yeah, it sucks losing it, just like it would suck to lose a leg, but if your leg is consumed with gangrene, you have to cut it off if you want to live. Sony needs to start turning things around soon, and steps like this help to show investors that they're serious about returning to profitability. Not only will it eliminate a major source of losses, but it might also help their bond sales. |

I have a Sony Vaio laptop and I absolutely love it. I will hang on to it as long as I possibly can, because after that there is no Vaio no more

Toshiba just announced an ultra thin 1/2.4" 20 megapixel sensor.
Competition for Sony unless they can really get that curved sensor to work.

With the QX series, Sony should definitely launch a case similar to the following:

Allow for direct connection to reduce lagg, a larger physical shutter button, and an external battery! Heck, if they can even add some physical dial for some manual control, it'll work REAL well with their e-mount QX camera. |

I don't want to be negative, but I am afraid that the tablet boat has sailed, and the smartphone market is really saturated.. no matter how good of a phone Sony makes, there is very little they can do against Google/Apple..
The Vaio brand was strong.. still not sure why they sold it considering that Intel had chips in the pipeline that would allow them to really shine in terms of hardware design, which is what they are known for.

The traditional "PC" might be dead, whatever that means, but there is still room for improvement on the portable side.
The Xperia brand is to Google what Vaio was to Microsoft.. still playing traditional OEM, they just moved from PC to phones.

I still think that the VAIO brand could have been successful.

PC laptop profit margin are paper thin, only companies with their own assembly/production lines and been in the business for eternity can manage to carve tiny profit out of it. And Sony was not one of those. Its just a dead weight they have been carrying on for far too long. I believe it was never profitable. |

Regarding the QX series obviously there's a market for it but not everyone wants to carry big lenses around with them, a lot of people don't even use compact camera these days.
Sony should add 5x or 6x lossless zoom to the photo and video as an alternative and it would be a great selling point to.
WhatI notice on the Z2 is when you zoom in on 4k the quality decreases straight away whereas on the S5 and no doubt the Note 4 you can zoom in 4 times on 4k and not lose much quality. |

The laptop market is like an end of the world sci-fi at the minute.
To continue the analogy the manufacturers are clans, the products are the remaining people, the customers are the food and water supplies. Most clans still has some high-blood line (ultrabooks), but most are poor excuses for life.
The world (laptop market) is still over-crowded (saturated), supplies aren't enough and are diminishing.
Sony made the right choice in not being part of a dog-fight that doesn't actually mean life or death.
The compact camera market is going this way too, just much slower.

Smartphone market, however, is a typical booming industry, still to reach the peak, probably about half the way there or just under.
Smart accessories like screenless camera QX series are still fighting for their place in the world, revolutionaries trying to find a following to mount an attack on world domination so as to avoid been deserted on an exotic island.

Sony mobile financial revision.
Looks like focusing more on premium devices and less mid range.
