if they are still doing 1080p and S801, this thing better be cheap or just DOA. New nexus 7 from HTC should be coming out at the end of the year and there is no room for that kind of specs for a premium price device.

^Chances are it will be 1080p and SD801, the trouble with going up against the Nexus from Google is their very aggressive pricing. Google make very little money (if any) off each Nexus device sold they hope to make the money by the user buying into Google i.e apps, music, movies that sort of thing and Sony just can't compete with Google when it comes to pricing it's hardware, in fact I can't think of any major brand that could.

By the way more cases for the Z3 on the Baseus website, they now show black, white and a champagne colour. Wonder if Sony will release this colour variant as all other major brands have some kind of gold colour alternative in their flagship range.

The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is as we expected identical to the Tablet Z2 with just the screen size and battery capacity changing according to this post on Android Origin.

yeah.... better be 350 USD max, or won't stand a chance against new ipad mini or even other 8" tablet. HTC nexus tablet is just around the corner, most likely same spec too.

I think thats the new smartwatch 3. The watch face is similar to the smartwatch 2's. So there's no doubt what that guy is wearing in the photo is smartwatch 3.

Is it me or does the band and the watch seem integrated? Possibility of non-removable bands for SW3?

@vivftp

I was thinking the same thing, may be they've integrated some extra tech into the band its self.

I hope not. changeable wrist band is unique feature of Sony SmartWatch 2. Without that option, Smartwatch 3 would look less appealing, at least to me.

Maybe they've got flexible battery tech integrated into the wrist band finally?

Perhaps Sony has combined the smartband and the smartwatch into one?

tablet looks nice, what worries me is the price and possibly the specs as Gitaroo pointed out. The nexus 9 should come with android L, have higher res screen and probably lower price but will lack the water and dustproofing.

Sad thing is, I am beginning to be tempted by the tab s 8.4, to replace my old tab 7.7 from samsung. :/

I hope smartwatch 3 incorporates a removable core unit and several different versions of watchface.
So that I can easily change the look of the smartwatch from square or rectangular face into a classic round face.

Well, stupid move by Sony. Introducing an 8 inch tablet to take Z ultra line's place. 8 inch tablet is nice on its own by the way. But retrieving from phablet category when Even Apple is expected to jump in with 5.5 inch iPhone. I sometimes wonder whether Sony has any logical goals.

Addition; why the heck Sony is ignoring android wear when its so obvious that it will be the mainstream product. Seriously why? I just can't see any future with this board of Sony's.

Android wear is still far behind Sony's smartwatch OS,Sony has 500+ apps for it.
On Android wear you still do not have a normal music player control
All what Google Wear can do you can put into a single app that can be instaled on any Android phone.
Already now I use an app on SW2 that activates Google Now (google now launcher),but I have to talk to the phone because SW2 does not have a microphone.

The tablet is not replacing the ZU, it is to compete with the normal 7-8 inch tablets currently on the market, Sony is lacking such a device. If the ZU would ever to be replaced, it would have to have similar specs to the note and other phablets, 5.6-5.8 inches, 6 inches max with thin bezels, otherwise anything larger and it will be dead in the water like the ZU was. That plus lack of pen support and a decent camera/flash combo as well.

Android wear is not proven yet, Sony is either waiting to see how the new batch of devices will do from other companies or doesn't want to use Google's OS since it will mean zero to no customization from their end. Plus I would imagine all the apps written for Sony's OS would need to be rewritten/modified to work on android wear, assuming they would even work.

@pt020, do you use the remote camera shutter app for your xperia on your SW2?
