Half of it is Qualcomm's fault for not having a proper roadmap for future silicon.
SD805 isn't good enough, and frankly neither is SD810, but they're the only viable Soc vendor.

As for Vaio, the PC/notebook space has become too low margin and they don't offer a mac like solution so it's best to quit before it destroys the company.

I want to see Intel inside in Z3 Ultra if that ever will exist. Both nVidia and Intel will will surpass Qualcomm in terms of speed. As a matter of fact, they already have. Once Intel gets its 14nm node out by 1h 2015, they will leap too far ahead its competitors. Qualcomm won't have something similar until a whole year after if not more. Samsung will soon most likely ditch Qualcomm completely and they are way behind Intel in node development as well.

SD805 lacks an integrated LTE modem, which is poor for power efficiency. Performance boost isn't worth the trade-off in terms of battery life. At least, in my opinion.

SD810 is just vanilla 64-bit ARM cores in a BIG.little configuration. Qualcomm haven't developed their next generation CPU cores based off of ARMv8 yet, which is a huge disappointment. Particularly because Apple was able to outpace them in this respect, despite entering the silicon design space since 2011-2 with the iPhone 5.

Those "plain vanilla" 64-bit ARM cores (the A57) are actually pretty good. They're 20-50% faster than A15 (which is itself faster than Krait) at 25% less power draw. That's pretty good. Especially if Android L is more multi-thread-friendly (which appears possible), the value of super-fast cores will drop slightly, and having multiple cores will yield better performance. This is not even taking into account the brand new GPU which is about 70% faster than the current Adreno 330 at the same power draw, or the fact that it finally supports h.265 encode.

By the way, there is no trade-off in battery life with the 805. Look at reviews of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A. Battery life is virtually identical with the standard model.

Looks like that leaked cybershot from a few days ago is getting more attention ahead of the announcement

According to SonyAlphaRumors it supposedly uses 19 mpix 1/2.3" curved sensor maybe Sony will put the same sensor on Z3 and this will be it's USP

I doubt the curved sensor will appear in the Z3, would be nice if it did but the Z3 feels like a minor evolution, only exterior design changes while the internals remain the same.

Another device is coming in a form of a interchangeable lens camera btw, model is ILCE-QX1 and ILCE-QW1L. It appeared here first

It is a certification website for russia it seems. sonyalpharumours tweeted a while ago about some new E mount camera that was unique/weird, so whatever it is, it probably is this ILCE-QX1.

Leaked Qualcomm roadmap gives us a closer look at their 64-bit plans

Snapdragon 610 & 615 processors could start showing up as early as Q1-Q2 2015. The more powerful Snapdragon 808 and 810 could appear in products from the second half of 2015. This is how it played out when the Snapdragon 600 and Snapdragon 800 succeeded the good ol' Snapdragon S4 Pro back in 2013.
