^ [OT] Funny, not anywhere near as offtopic as most of the recent comments.
(My comment got somehow screwed up)

not sure if this was posted
http://tablet-news.com/2014/0[....]devices-including-two-tablets/
ony is apparently preparing new devices for their Mobile World Congress 2014 introduction in Barcelona and today 3 such products have hit the FCC. Apparently we’re dealing with a phone and two tablets.
So basically we may be preparing for an Xperia Z2, a follow-up to the Xperia Tablet Z and maybe a new phablet. We could see a new release of the Xperia Z Ultra model, maybe the WiFi model that has been floating on the interwebs, or maybe a totally new unit. The 3 devices mentioned here were tested together at the FCC, so apparently this should mean that their hardware is quite similar.
Also, the tablets’ model numbers are similar: TM-0040-BV and TM-0043-BV, so in the end it could be a single Xperia Tablet Z2 slate with 2 versions. Android is probably the OS of choice and I can’t help but wonder what happened to that Windows Phone device they were supposed to be making. Also, do they care about Windows 8 anymore?
Hmm probably all android, although would be nice to see some windows 8 tablets, but as I mentioned before, computex would make more sense for those, unless Sony has decided to not enter the sub 10 inch tablet market in the world of windows.
PY7TM-0040, PY7TM-0043
kind of device: tabletPC
firmware on the device 17.0.A.0.274
GPRS/EGPRS 850/900/1800/1900; UMTS HSPA FDDI/II/IV/V/VIII; LTE
FDD1/2/3/4/5/7/8; WLAN b/g/n/a/ac; BT 4.0; RFID; A-GPS
both look to be sporting LTE, I doubt these are 2 different models, I feel, probably just variants of each other.

Yep, they use the same BT hw/sw for instance.

Btw do we now anything about the D6603 except that one benchmark?
Will it even debut on MWC?
Or is it bogus?
Oh and slightly offtopic but huge wtf, Google sells Motorola to Lenovo for 2.9 billion. WTF

Good business all round if you ask me.
Lenovo see potential in the smartphone market in their home territory of China and want to step in to that gap.
Google want to cut an unnecessary arm and the money is good.
Good business.

I'm interested to know if there will be a Vaio Tap 11 equivalent with android and windows dual booting. I can't remember who released a massive touch screen monitor with built-in android at CES but it was awesome if a little big.
It was Lenovo ThinkVision 28 I think. 28" is huge obviously. I was thinking 11" with a stylishly detachable keyboard (like VAIO Tap 11 NOT ASUS Transformer style).
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

ASUS did release an AIO system with 18" touchscreen that has Android also along with the default Windows...
The hint here is that you can actually remove the screen and use it as a standalone 18" Tablet !!
But it's not dual boot, it's actually has a Tegra3 SoC for the Android part both systems runs in the same time and you can switch between them with a hardware button !

I wonder if Sony will be one of the companies to use this part. |

Hold you horses, those news just mixed it up together, nothing more than that.
STM OIS-Hardware still 2-axis, while Nokia actually used advanced 3-axis since it first launch of Lumia 920.
The key of STM OIS offer is reduce whole size of package, to serve very thin trend phone.

Pre-ordered an Xperia Z1 Compact (with £50 cashback from Carphone Warehouse) and it should be arriving today!!!
So excited. First new phone in over 2 years! Finally can put my slowly dying Xperia Ray to rest....You've been good to me pal.
Anyway, I'll probably run through some stuff. Check how it feels and all. Not sure if I'll post pics for privacy reasons, but I'll give a brief hands-on. |

Feels great in the hand. Surprisingly heavy, but in a good way. Feels dense and sturdy.
Screen is perfection. SO much better quality-wise, than ones I've seen on standard Z1 dummy units. Absolutely beautiful, excellent contrast, excellent viewing angles, good pixel density. Destroys the decent screen in my Ray, not even a fair competition.

I really hope Sirius will have a screen at least on par, if not better, than the Compact!
