Good People of esato i have a Problem. My Upgrade is due on "3" next week and for the first time ever I cant decide what phone to get. The shortlist is
Nokia 925
Nokia 1020
Htc One
Samsung Galaxy S4
I currently have a well used S3 and to be honest i am happy with it but with 4G coming to Three in Dec i need to move with the times.
I work as a Scaffolder on site everyday so my Other choice of Galaxy Note 3 isn't very Practical, I don't want an iphone had a 4 and 4s and currently have an ipad so i am done with apple.
I use my phone for the same things as everyone else... Facebook Twitter having Scaffold designs emailed to me and taking the odd Pic although i have a DSLR for taking Pics Properly.
I am interested in the Nokia`s more so because of windows mobile as i have never tried it and not the camera on the 1020.

your explanation brings it down to HTC one and Lumia 925.
Windows is running smooth and has everything you need for normal use, I think you would be more happy with HTC. There are still some silly limitations in WP8.

I do like the Htc The fixed battery worries me though I had a terrible time with the battery in my Htc Sensation XL but the 925 has that also. Windows 8 does intrigue me though....

I have wp7.8 and must say it runs very smooth. Difficulties are sharing options but in day to day use it's a very clever OS.
925 is a very decent device that won't let you down.

Windows 8 undoubtedly has pros over android... But it also has cons. A 18 or 24 month contract is a long time to live with something you're currently unsure about and may end up frustrated with...
If you have a friend with a windows 8, ask him to show you everything, including basic things. Whilst you might not appreciate it currently, there are certain freedoms which will be taken away from you.
But, on the plus side, it's pretty fluid. I assume you'll get updates for a while, though the track record doesn't look, and it's different, refreshing even.
Because you're in the UK, I'd recommend either the Z1 or the HTC One. The Z1 is waterproof, when you're outside, which you are quite often you suggest, you'll be able to use it as much as you could inside, which is, what I think, it has over your current shortlist.
If you're fixed on the windows phones though, the 925 doesn't have much competition unless you have thick pockets...
