^^once again the verge sh!ts on sony.
bad display - sure. they got one of those and shame on sony for even letting ANY Z1 have a bad display. I can live with that part of the review.
but otherwise, they are clearly biased against sony. it's the fastest android phone out there right now and yet they give the G2 an edge for it's "blistering performance"?
It seems even if the Z1 had a remarkable screen, they'd simply find something else to shoot it down with.. maybe audio or something.

the verge is a pile of crappy reviewers !
they are apple fanboys, look they gave the iphone 5s 8 in battery life, 9 in camera!! 9 in design like wtf ???
they gave the screen of the sony 6, ok i understand that the bad viewing angles is an issue, but for god sake dead on the screen is one of the best! if not, the best! so you can give them at least 8 (2 points fot the angles ..) but 6???
8 in battery life? really?

Z1 is GORGEOUS. 5s is the same re-hash they've been doing since the iphone 4 with slightly different materials...

I was able to duplicate the "phone too hot" camera temporarily disabled note. You just need to do the the different photo modes (like sketch) for a few minutes. My phone kept disconnecting the camera app. The phone was warm, but not too hot. |

Verge used to be good, but then I just stopped caring for their reviews, they hate Sony and love Apple.
I've asked many people here with Iphone 5s why they are not upgrading, most said it was not worth it, or are happy with their current 5. |

the absurd is that they gave the iphone 5c score of 8.6 !!
they gave the qx100 6.8 !!!!
look at every laptop they review, at the end of the review it will be like that:
if you want the good stuff buy a Mac.
for me the verge was never good, they suck. |

Where did he write that? At the end he says he prefers Z1 over G2. I thought most of the critique was realistic, the screen is dissapointing, the camera software is lacking and it should have shipped on 4.3 software.

@jubei - looked at the G2 review.. the pros are "blistering performance" and it's rated 8.0 but Z1 is 7.8, yet he prefers Z1 over G2? hmmm.. suspicious and inconsistent.

He didnt write the G2 review though. Thats probably why the scores are inconsistent. I agree it makes it misleading |

Yea, i know. but as a whole, the verge, should communicate more so that their ratings aren't so personalized because an everyday user coming by would just look at the ratings and think.. oh hey the verge thinks A is better than B.. and not realize that the difference in points could be due to a difference in personal preference.
like you said, misleading and, i think, irresponsible for such a well known website.

Hope Sony sorts this camera out as that's another two reviews that have said the camera isn't as good as it seems and that stuttering when recording on the pocketnow video is shocking for a phone with such a powerful processor and 2GB Ram.

Different people review different phones at the Verge. Vlad is the harshest reviewer, also the best reviewer when it comes to discussing a phone. He may have given the Z1 a 7.8, but he is VERY fair with his deduction. If Sony had released it with 4.3 and given him a model with the best available screen, he would have definitely scored it higher.
Nilay Patel reviewed the 5c and he drinks Apple Kool-Aid all day. |

Agree. Vlad is a good reviewer. If you listen to their podcasts you realize that he is a disappointed Sony-fanboy. He knows Sony can do better and when they do he will praise it. If the screen was better it would have been 8.5 easily
I still can't believe they send out phones with bad displays to reviewers, they seriously need to fire some guys over at the PR department |

Sony Mobile to me still seems like a Japanese market focus company. They keep all their best stuffs even the best version of the same device in the domestic market and everywhere else is half ass. They have improved over the years but not enough. |
