^good to know. and yes i am now one with the dark side.. muwahahaha...

@luiwi - go to the store and see for yourself! Ultra and Z1 are two different classes of devices, so it's up to your personal preference, i think.

I went from Ultra to Z1 and Z to Ultra, I just couldn't live with the size - if the Ultra had the same camera as Z1 I might have kept it but it just became a burning issue that I couldn't live with, then Sony announced the Z1 and that made my mind up to sell it - funny thing is that the Z1 one looks really small to me now - I guess that's a bonus, if my pocket had been like Dr Who's Tardus then I could have lived with the phablet but not the camera

So I have had my Xperia Z1 one for 24hrs and here is what I think so far.

Z1 pro's
Fantastic screen (best ever from Sony)
Camera is top notch vast improvment over my Z
Buils quality is best in Android
Audio quality is superb through headphones and the loud speaker is good aswell
lightning fast performance no glitches or lag what so ever
battery seems to last langer than on my Z too

Z1 con's
Battery takes a while to charge (compared to Z) may just be the larger capacity
lens maybe to close to the edge of the phone
gets hot just like the Z but not as bad

The pro's outweigh the cons by a country mile. The phone is a highly polished well put together device that oozes class and quality in all fields. I am very happy with my choice to replace my Z with the Z1.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

@XperiaJunkie,

I'm planning to change from Z to Z1 as well once the phone arrive in Malaysia. I will pass the Z to my wife. Good to hear all the positive news from the actual owner of the phone.

Well 3000 versus 2400 on battery, it just MUST take longer to fill it.

Anyway I am just curious about the photo quality. I mean do you have those blurry places on photos,
especially in the background.
Like on GSMArena....

That is the only concern regarding Z1, otherwise it's clearly on top.

swedish site http://www.swedroid.se just reviewed G2 and compared the cam to Z1 and said that Z1 is the best camera they've seen on any android phone to date. I have to point out that the reviews by Swedroid is better than any other site out there except a few. They test everything and very thorough.

I am confused. If you bring up the comparison pictures the G2 pictures have more detail. Did the author flip the phone captions?

@Doministry not that I have noticed all my photos have been spot on and the same with the Smart lens I have too. I will transfer some to my computer though just to double check on a larger screen but all look great to be honest.

To Z1 users, please try and post a pic or two using HandHeld Twilight mode, I'd like to see the picture quality in that mode for night/low light scenes.

TIA!

@Xperia Junkie
1)Is the status LED nice? is it clear to see? is it personalizable like in the Xperia SP/U?
2) Are there any problem in the focus in low light? (here on a site A blogger says that his Z1 has great problem focusing in the dark and never finds focus:/ )...

@CrownedAkuma at first I thought it was a strange place to put the LED inside the earpiece but it actually makes sence. Most people will have the phone flat while charging (unless you use the dock) the LED is brighter than the one on the Z and it seems to fill the whole earpiece making the effect of the LED more noticable. I havn't had much time to take low light photos yet to test the focusing but I will try tonight as post the results.

Just had a look and there is no way to customise the LED's just the standard red, green and blue colours.

In other words, he's complaining about a reflective display just hours after getting it? Picky person.
