Nowadays only no-name phone cameras are crap.
IF you don't pixel-peep, it is fine.

One question that I asked before but I now with more clarity would like to ask again. Would a shot with the new accessories like the QX100/QX10 qualify as taken with a mobile phone?

Just my .02 but I would say "No, the QX100/QX10 do NOT qualify"... i say this because these have their OWN built-in sensor and are NOT a mobile phone actually.... they simply transmit the image to your phone. [addsig]

@mlife I'll ask @Ricky D to upload a pic to esato so we can see what the exif says. If it's not detectable it's hard to rule it out.

@VLADISLAUS. Welcome back! We missed you.

Yeah, the rumours are that the accessories have in-built sensors and simply transmit the photo to the handset, however, the accessory itself cannot be a standalone camera in that it doesn't have a shutter key nor a viewfinder (not that viewfinders are necessary) you still need to use a phone to take the photo.

It gets more complicated that the QX100 doesn't even have to send the photo to your phone because it uses an sdcard.

I think @hihihans is correct though that if there isn't anything in the exif that is telling, it's hard to rule police. Even though it gives a clear advantage with (rumoured) 10x optical zoom and large(ish) sensor.

Lenses without sensors have always been on the good side of qualification. Just as anything you can do before you actually press the shutter button.
these new lenses with sensor are on the edge. I am just not shure on which side.

I'm back to business as I have the Nexus 3 (ironically the Nexus 4 dropped its price just after I bought the 3)
