The camera interface is designed to make capturing and sharing meaningful moments intuitive and more engaging with multiple shooting modes including ‘Drama Shot’, which allows users to see all the action in one continuous time-lapse, and ‘Sound & Shot’, which uniquely stores sound and voice together with the image to capture the moment in an immersive visual/audio format. With ‘Story Album’, photos taken with the GALAXY S4 Active are collected and sorted according to a user’s timeline, geo-tagging information or a specific event to instantly create an organized photo album. To help facilitate sharing, users can also use the ‘Group Play’ function to enjoy music, photos, documents and games together and across various devices including GALAXY S4, GALAXY S4 mini, GALAXY Mega 6.3 and GALAXY Mega 5.8.
‘Samsung Smart Pause’ enables users to control of the screen using optical cues. While watching a video, the video pauses when you look away and starts right up again when returning to view, saving vital battery life and time spent rewinding. ‘Air View’ lets you preview the content of an email by simply hovering your fingers over the screen, which saves time and data. When I said Samsung need to design smartphones looking less like bars of soap, I didn't mean make them even uglier...
This one looks even less like an attempt to design something decent, are those screws I see? On the back? 4 of them, one on each corner? And people complained about the Nexus 4 having holes for two screws on the bottom...

I like it, but I don't want it. I like the attention to detail Samsung paid with Glove Touch, Aqua Mode etc... It's a truly rugged phone, and with all the sensors the GS4 comes with, I'm excited to see what more is added

Makes sense, they traded the Camera and Display for Water and Dust Resistance and stronger materials, while keeping pretty much everything else the same.
They can go pretty crazy with the ad campaigns of the regular S4 and S4 Active, I'm thinking of something like what BMW did with the new 1series ad campaign with Sport and Urban line.

no Sony hasn't … Motorola predates the XZ or any other Xperia with water resistance with the RAZR line and another that predates that.
However Sony has gained from water resistance experience from Ericsson. I'd like to see more done for complete water proofing … without the need for ugly flaps - more nano molecules sprayed on every component before, during, and after assembly.

I think what he meant by Sony creating that segment is a flagship product which sold well with the feature in the west in the last few years. For example, no one mentions dell creating the phablet segment with the streak, the note is credited with that. |

Like AWAY said,SONY popularized this,i believe its fair to say without the Z this wouldn't have happened.
Anyway,that said any idea if this S4 would be built better?As far as ive seen SAMSUNGs are pretty fragile...im looking for a water resistant phone and if this is also built better to falls and bumps..i just might be interested
