Damn, I love the camera novelties from Nokia, too bad they have wasted this potential by partnering with Microsoft... If Nokia would go Android or any other open source OS, they would stay on top...

Yeah well maybe but Nokia still has many fans out there dying for that ultimate camera experience whatever OS it's on.

True about the camera, false about the Android statement.

Android on a Nokia phone would be like Android on a Sony phone. They'd have to create their own skin to differentiate their phone from the competitors in the market and would probably fail. Their Android skin wouldn't be as capable as Samsung's, probably duller, boring and less productive.

Nokia made a brilliant decision going with WP. It didn't seem to be the case but when WP8 arrived on the latest Nokia Lumia phones, they've finally made a brilliant transformation that differentiates their phones from the competitors.

If or WHEN Nokia release a 808 WP, i'll be the first to preorder it !

They are to release the Lumia 928 but it's only for America. A Xenon flash version of the 920 with aluminum unibody. But this is not the big camera phone

Well, the skin doesn't really matter, it could be raw android as far as I'm concerned. They are ment to differentiate by the superb camera, not few software tricks that are pretty useless anyway. I just want a phone that has OS which is capable to fulfill practically every whim of the user, and has awesome camera. Find me an Android phone which has the image and audio quality that Nokia delievers, there is none.

Look at WP, it's less usable than old Symbian... And seeing what MS did with Windows 8, I'm gonna stay far away from Microsoft till they realise the mistake they made and go with Windows 9 which is usable again, it's just how Microsoft is... Never learns from it's own mistakes -_-

Ah ok Well,as you were saying about more mega pixels,Sony are apparently planning a 16 or 20 meg Cyber-shot phone. Perhaps a bad idea

not a bad idea... but IMO Nokia is going the right direction looking at innovation and not just mp's. Lytro is at least something new and innovative, different... so if you add that to the pool, it could be interesting to see where it goes and what creativity it sparks in other manufactures to "one up" Nokia. Sony will launch Lytro camera phones next year with 1 inch sensor size. So it's not about megapixels alone anymore at Sony.

There is nothing with Windows 8 to start with.. This is coming from an extremely power user of Windows, currently using a touch screen convertible from Lenovo as my main PC.. I connect it at home to a 24" LCD and use it as a proper desktop..

It's only that the web is full of hating nerds..
Go on the ground and Windows 8 is doing well..

As Windows Phone capabilities, there may be some features on Android missing on WP, and the it's also true the other way around..
WP8 has all covered in case you're any sort of a power user, be it for business, multimedia, or entertainment.. I would even go further and claim that for any serious use WP is a better experience than Android..

If you happen to be a nerd in need of full control and tweaking options through custom ROMs and some nerdy use cases then Android will always be your only option..

Having said that, it's not easy to convince people of such given the media bias, and the fact that WP came in late with iOS and Android already established brands in the market.. Specially that for the first two years WP was indeed playing a lot of catch up..

Going forward though, Nokia's advantages in being at the top of the Windows platform, seems a better position to hit back at Samsung than just release Droids with unique imaging capabilities..
