About size... an estimation! I expect it to be something like GD87 but definately thicker and heavier. With the flip closed it should be something like the current T68... but thicker.
Btw, Nokia's 3G seems to me like an Entry Level 3210 compared to Z1010!!! LOLOLOLOL!!!
SE definately leads the way, when it comes to technology...

that's kinda weird since they say in their press release that it's a full range media mobile with games and polyphonic ringtones and stuff.....so why not the Mophun platform?

Well probably because it has Java instead...
You are reading the facts before you type, yes, Erik?

i still think the mophun platform seems to be a better standard since you can develop using C/C++ if you don't know the big language Java!

Where did you get April 2004 from? It says 2003 in the press release. This time there should be no reason to delay the phone so much - the only reason why the P800 was delayed was because of the MSD.
May hold off getting the P800 now. These 3G phones are starting to look quite good. |

Do you think, that when you are at the point to buy that one. There ain`t another newer phone with more and better functions.
If you wait, then you`ll never a new phone.
Every time there are coming new ones, and you can`t wait, or else you`ll wait forever...

The only difference this time is that the P800 has been delayed so much, that new phones with better technology are just about to be released. With the T68, it's only recently that phones have been released with more features. |

Yes, there aren't gonna be any serious competitor in the near future. You see the phone is futureproof... just like the T68. Sometime of course, new phones equal or better WILL come... but the problem is when? Have in mind that the release date for this phone is during the summer
PS: However don't expect to see Z1010 in the shops... This phone will mainly distributed by the network operators to specific customers.

Don't forget, the Nokia 3g phone actually exists and has been in existance since late last year. This new SE phone is promised for 2004. Taking the P800 as a yardstick, you will be lucky to see general availability by 2005. What will Nokia, and Motorola and Siemens and Panasonic and NEC have by then....!?
In my opinion, SonyEricsson should keep their lips sealed until they are entering production. Perhaps if they had done that with the P800 people would be more tolerant of delays. |

2004? Where did you see that? They do clearly say Q3 2003. Also... if this phone does not exist how did they demo it? Don't bet on the release dates... you may be surprised this time. It's not Ericsson, it's SE... things have changed a little bit.
Finally... the gap between the Nokia one and the SE... is about 3 months. Did the technollogy advanced so much during these 3 months or what? I am telling you this because this phones however do have a great technological gap...

Sorry, I was just running it through my SonyEricsson bullshit release date interpreter (patent pending)! How you can believe they can possibly release their FIRST 3g phone on time is a mystery to me. They have not got a single product in the last 2 years out on time.
P800 due August 02, still unreleased in the UK - I rest my case...

Yes you are right! They do have a bad record on mantaining release dates but, I don't know, somehow I got the feeling that this time they will not have such great delays. Furthermore they are already experienced in 3G phones (Japanese market).
As for the P800... they did added a memorystick, which caused extra delays... but in anyway P800 is too much delayed. I can't disagree over this fact.
There were phones that released on time, but other phones weren't so lucky...
Time will tell

I think you people are being a bit unfair here. It's not like SonyEricsson is the only company which has delayed phones. Nokia also has this almost everytime, and their phones are not even innovative.
AFAIK the T28, T68 and P800 are the only phones that have been delayed by SE/Ericsson. 3 delayed phones are no that much. And BTW it's a completly different thing to release a innovative phone compared to just releasing a bunch of phones with the exact same features.
All this SE bashing for delayed phones is not fair. |

And as always, they didn't include GSM 1900 Mhz for America's....our luck I guess - the phone is only dual band. Alas. |
