Galaxy S4 sales again said to be slowing
Although sales of Samsung’s Galaxy S4 got off to a blisteringly fast start , many reports have suggested that sales of the device have started to noticeably slow in recent weeks. And now Digitimes ‘ supply chain sources claim that Samsung has started cutting back component orders for the Galaxy S4 due to “a slowdown in demand” for the device. This doesn’t mean the Galaxy S4 is selling poorly, of course, since Samsung is still ordering enough parts to sell up to 45 million units of its flagship phone over the next two quarters. But as more of the action moves away from high- end devices such as the Galaxy S4 and the iPhone 5 and toward more low-cost devices in emerging markets, Samsung has had to adjust its expectations.

Seems the industry has totally reached saturation in the top end, we've been flooded with super powerful Galaxys and iPhones in the last 3years and now growth is at the mid to low end, still, 45million S4s by the end of this year??? Thats more than most companies entire 2013 range put together. If last year is anything to go by though, S4 sales could pick up again when the next iPhone arrives...exciting times ahead!

I must admit im not surprised. I mean, where do all these millions of people come from ?
If they sell 10 million, then 50 the following year, then 100, then 200.. ? it simply cannot keep growing otherwise they'll be selling more phones than there are people on the planet.
Of course that's not reality though. Really, Sony are getting slightly stronger, HTC are putting up a decent effort and Nokia are releasing more interesting handsets using WP. The market is saturated with Samsung phones.

Samsung to release a faster Galaxy S4 with LTE Advanced network support. You just have to wait 2-3 years before your operator has a working LTE Advanced network available.

Very nice
Samsung used to do this a lot a few years back with 3G/HSDPA, I remember they would be among the 1st to bring a new 3G/HSPA standard but back then they did it with random mid range models, I especially remember the HSDPA7.2Mbps phone they launched, it was a flip phone, knew a few people who got it solely for using it as a modem for their laptops.
One thing is for sure, Samsung's R&D dept. is in overdrive, they seem to be experimenting a lot this year, trying to figure out what else will stick, they are not sitting back and simply relying on the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphone and Galaxy Tab sales.
The Galaxy Zoom, S4 Active, Galaxy Mega and Pusha (name of their low ends here in South Africa) line are clearly a way for them to test the waters, they have the money so why not, and the sheer speed at which they can counter a competitors new product is incredible it's even got some Samsung haters rather mad it seems, most companies wish they could operate at the speed and efficiency Samsung do. Next year we'll see which of these expiraments stuck. They really do remind me of the 2005-2007 Nokia.

Well, like I always say when people say such a thing, I wish these companies would invest more money in R&D of battery technology. Can you imagine how many they would sell of a particular device if they could release a product like the S4 versus the HTC One, but with double or triple its battery life ? what if they could release a S4 with 10,000mAh ?
They can try these novelties all they want, but companies like Samsung that make more than just devices should invest more in researching better components.

+1
Many have been saying that since the early days of smartphones. I'm glad the GS4 can outlast its competitors in battery despite having more sensors and more powerful hardware, but still, companies have a long way to go in this department.
At the same time, I think everything else is evolving so fast due to lower costs of development, batteries and energy in general seems to be just so resource hungry. Even battery powered cars are proving to be difficult and a major money burner, I heard Fisker, the company that made this solar and battery powered beauty, Fisker Karma:
Are now bankrupt not all of it due to energy but it does seem like production costs were astronomical partly due to it not being your regular fossil fuel driven vehicle.
