Every now and again my network icon will sprout some extra "points" like shown in this image...

but in the manual that particular icon is nowhere to be found??

Anyone have the slightest clue what it means? [addsig]

You mean the E or the symbol below it?? The E is for Edge connection and the two symbols means weather a connection is running or not.

I think he means the extra points on the arrows. If i remember correctly that means your Nokia is using two different access points. I know with my network, Vodacom (Vodafone SA), if you had a Nokia you'd get 3 access points in your internet settings, one would be Internet the other would be WAP, and then an extra MMS one. Sometimes you'd fine that a certain app would use your WAP settings while the other is using Internet and so you'd get those extra points popping up, and i think it did the same when retrieving an MMS while you're using another access point at the same time. Its been a while since ive used Symbian, so i cant completely remember.

That sounds like the answer... I actually have multiple access points set up;
AT&T Internet
Home WiFi
WAP

I wonder why that is not in the manual?

THANKS! [addsig]

You are on AT&T as well ? Nice.. I am very happy with their network. Are you having the random reboot bug on your 808 ?

I only have the AT&T Internet and multiple Wi-Fi access points and I've never seen that icon on mine..

I did have that problem at first but was using a cut down sim card.... When I turned off high-speed data it went away but I really wasn't happy having to do that.

So I went into the AT&T store and got a micro sim (for free) and placed it in my device.... haven't had issue since and use 3.5G all the time now with highspeed data enabled again.

guessing that the newer/micro sim fixed my issue.

^ thanks! Mine does it every now and then... its annoying. I think its something to do with specific towers.. it only happens when i am driving, and I have an established connection.
