@shotokan81

Well... i guess pixel binning is still not completely confirmed for honami.
earlier it was confirmed by many leakers here but later on many contradicting claims were made with some saying yes and some saying no
@RAMU can u confirm this ?

Samsung & HTC Fighting in twitter ,,

Samsung did hire part time students, each applied and utilized multiple accounts on various high traffic review sites to write fake negative reviews about HTC's latest devices and flagships. Samsung quickly apologized when those proofs were shown, but Samsung said those people lied before people presented the solid proof

you know what they say about guys with small hands right???

they can't use phablets with one hand..

so is there confirmation that there will be a new phone/device announcement on june 25th for the Chinese market? I would hope that honami gets announced too, but if i have to wait til july/august i will do so. I was so tempted to get the XZ when it came out but my gut feeling to wait was correct! Honami is shaping up to be an incredible phone worthy of my hard earned money.

That 10 million estimate is not for 1 year, but around 6 months only. Don't forget Honami is not a "1 year flagship" like Htc One or Galaxy S4.

I thought Sony's Strategy for honami is 1 honami per year? If after 6 months honami will have a succesor then why should we buy honami if a better product will arrive? Atleast with samsung s series or iphone we have a year not to worry our handsets is obsolete. This strategy is not good. They should replace products annually not every 6 months. Sony should learn from the market leaders. I am a sony fan eversince and i keep using them out of loyalty, but if they just keep on releasing a product without giving it a spotlight and proper marketing and even having them on US TELCOS how can they be recognized? Sony should return the loyalty to us consumers. They should make a device that can still be relevant within a year.

I hope Sony would have a good strategy for their Mobile business. I really want them to overtake Samsung. Since they want to concentrate on the High End market at-least they should have a clear differentiation of their High end offerings. I like how they market their products now, Xperia z being the all around high end device, Zl a cheaper alternative with smaller footprint? Togari/ Xperia z ultra as a phablet and Honami as a monster camera phone. I hope they release a replacement for them after a year so the people will know more about them and will anticipate for its follow up. Like how Apple markets iPhone. They should really make their presence felt in the US if they want to dominate the smartphone business.

Such a philosophical question I don't know where to begin... Don't worry though, with such a vast community of varying insights and of people of differing backgrounds, I'm sure we have different schools of thought here who will do the vast topic justice; more than just the usual trolls that would claim the answer to be obvious, and to be (or not to be) 'the longer the battery life, the better'.

Due to the possible pitfalls of answering such a challenging question, I, a mere laymen, instead of referring to my own judgement, have found a source (though I doubt the authenticity).

I doubt Honami would become mainstream though, it's a niche device and given its high pricepoint, It'll be like the then P-series in terms of market adoption.

Why not ? I hear the same thing about the EOS... people that think that are going off of what happened to the 808... but they are forgetting that the 808 was declared DOA by the company which made it, it had NO marketing, it was very expensive, and no carrier support. The blogosphere had no idea what it was, all they could scream about was that it runs on Symbian..

The size and the weight had absolutely nothing to do with it turning into a "niche" device.

If Sony play their cards right, the Homani can dominate their xperia line in terms of profits.

i don't think honami is niche. it's supposed to have the best of sony from screen, to camera, to audio, and build quality/design. it's an all around beast like any of the other flagships from other manufacturers.

i should become mainstream if sony makes an effort to market it at least as much as the Z, but preferably even more.
