808 didn't sell well at all. Maybe a 0.4 million units to date max.

I doubt Honami would become mainstream though, it's a niche device and given its high pricepoint, It'll be like the then P-series in terms of market adoption.

i don't think that honami will b a niche product...
Why would sony spend so much on r&d of honami when they won't make it mainstream... it would only add to their woes & increase losses.
Sony is reviving xperia brand from the scratch just to make huge profits & increase market share! (look at apple & samsung)
Morover honami marks the real start of sony's new "one sony" policy which will b carried on in the future with one flagship releasing every year.
Honami won't be like 808 or eos as a great camera with some smartphone features/ outdated hardware.
Honami will be a masterpiece with BEST OF EVERYTHING, so it won't be a niche product just for some people but will satisfy even d most demanding users in almost every job!
It's sony's answer to samsung/apple and their yearly flagships like s1-s4/iphones.
I don't think sony would ever want to see their best smartphone to date hve poor sales & create a -ve impact!!!

^ Just 10 million?
Xperia S sold around 5 million and Xperia Z might reach 7 million imo. I thought honami will be a blockbuster. HTC One is selling 1,2 mil units per mounth so it will reach 10millions. Setting their goal below HTC One is not ambitious at all or there might be some disapointing facts about it that we don't know so far?
P.S. What is their internal sale number for Xperia Z Xperia tablet Z and Xperia Z ultra?

That 10 million estimate is not for 1 year, but around 6 months only. Don't forget Honami is not a "1 year flagship" like Htc One or Galaxy S4.

I doubt it's possible (Sorry). I always hang around a lot of mobile phone shop and some of the common comments when they see the Z is "it's a little too large for me".

Like your subtle insult, but no.
Here's one of your dearest Caucasians reviewing the Galaxy Mega 6.3 also finds one handed use very uncomfortable.

hehe.
Though, I feel my hands are large enough

Anyways, I asked a question a day ago and was ignored.
C6802 - Honami?
C6833 - Togari?

Remember this?

Whenever a product is listed there, it means it's going to launch very soon.

htc one has just sold 2 million total in abt 2 months(or maybe even more time) & acc. to analysts dere is no hope of good sales of htc one anymore... It's sales will probably come to a halt in july as a lot of new & great devices r coming...
Even samsung has lowered sales estimates of s4

@Abhid999: wait, who suggested pixel binning?
If you refer to my posts, then i am no insider, it is just a wishlist.
But if you refer to someone else, it would be a great news.
I currently think this is a 27MP sensor taking 2 simultaneous 13MP shots for HDR, so improved details in saturated pixels / high light.

@Razec: i guess you have two ways to improve signal/noise ratio: increase the light or reduce the noise.
What you mean is that you want them to perfect the tech and minimise noise? Everyone agrees, i take any stop gain we can have here.
However, pixel binning would also allow to increase the light (signal) for those who do not require the most details.
I see it the best of both worlds as if you do need the details, then you can shoot without binning.
I guess what you imply is that you cannot implement pixel binning and the best noise performance per base pixel on the same sensor with today's tech, correct?

So, both togari and honami will have stylus ?...or at least stylus capability ?

Optical sensors for touch screen has been used by Sony for their 2011 VAIO L desktop PC. Its a very nice touch screen and you can use anything on it....finger, nail, pen etc. There are 4 optical sensors at the corner. The only problem is, its too sensitive. It can even register the touch without touching the screen (aka floating touch). Its interesting if Sony can incorporate this touch type into their Xperias.... Its not new to them.
