Hi guys, I just made a new account but I've been here since the arc days. I just felt like joining the discussion now!
I've always loved Sony and am excited for the upcoming Honami!
but they did sort of already have some kind of design video for the 2012 arc series

Asking for Xenon flash on a 9mm thick device is like asking for a miracle
The only way to accommodate it is to have a hump.. then the device can be 8mm with 11-13mm at the camera. There is no way around it with the current tech.. |

I guess we won't see these new xenon flashes until next year. Maybe the 2014 flagship?

Doubt it. Would really surprise me if Sony would leave that amount of lens distortion unfixed (which is done in software). |

I can't wait for the SO-01F to be released for NTT DoCoMo. Hoping for the arrival in Sept soon.
Last year the autumn collection was announced mid october, i expect SO-01F to be launched around those lines, but hope for something earlier!

One guy posted this on XDA... What could it be? My guess is Honami Mini...
He said: "You didn't see this from me... but 4th of Sep is gonna be exciting! Thats all I'm saying!"

Well, can anyone ID the phone beside it to figure out dimensions? |

It looks like it is Blackberry Q10:

Its dimensions are: 119.6 x 66.8 x 10.4 mm
So my guess is that the Sony phone close to it is 117 x 59 x ?? mm

If that is Honami Mini then holy macaroni!
For comparisons sake the iPhone 5 is 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6mm. If Honami Mini is 117 x 59 x ?? mm then this proves only one thing... Sony are wizards! Especially if it is supposed to have a 4.3" display.
OTOH, all insiders seem to believe Honami Mini won't see the light of day until Q1 2014, so what're the chances of it being shown at IFA? The only way I can see then showing it is if they want to get it out there and not actually release it for 3-4 months.

I did not say Honami has those dimensions, it was pure speculation by me based on the image and the dimensions on the phone next to it... That's why I said: My Guess...
But, it is still smaller than the 119 x 66 mm from the Q10...
@my_ninja: I don't think it is ZL1... If it is, then there would be no space for logos, speakers, microphones or nothing else on the front for a 1080p screen... If it is the ZL1, but it just has a smaller screen (staying at 1080p screen res), it would have a PPI of 536!!!!

Just ran some numbers and that Sony phone is approx 109.24mm tall and 57.88mm wide. That puts it as being considerably smaller than the 123.8 x 58.6mm iPhone 5. If it is Honami Mini then damn! Then again the phone could be quite thick to make up for its other relatively small dimensions. |

can someone make that more focused. I'm guessing we can use blackberry's shadow at bottom and its thickness to estimate this phone's thickness. |
