I think he meant the touch camera shutter button is not on the middle of the lower edge of the screen, besides check out the distortion on the lower left corner of the display, also the navigation buttons are oriented horizontally despite the entire UI on vertical

if this is an early prototype then Sony have taken it back to the drawing board as I mentioned there is no physical shutter key in the photo, and you cant see the volume rocker either.

On the phone camera screen, there are 3 objects: One is the wooden table all the way in the back, the second thing is a electronic decive's screen (you can make out the bezel of the device from the table), and the third thing is the hand and fingers of the person holding the honami (it may be hard but if you look closely at the dark screen of the device, there are some brighter-color patterns which look like fingers arrangement when you hold a phone). This is just my speculation, nothing more. Don't be angry with me if my statement is wrong! The discrepancy in the orientations of the onscreen buttons and the camera function icons is a little weird.

OK lol that's way too blurry for me to see anything!

Early software may explain bug in the bar orientation...
But if it is an early proto then it may not be the actual Honami...

Besides, no shutter/volume and kind of voluminous bezel and round form make me think there maybe some kind of case around the device, so i really can't tell nothing from that pic...

I think you are right Shotokan.
A case around the phone would explain the reflection in the bezel (marked red here).

Looking forward to the Sony Xperia Z4 (or 5)

It is just what you need to fit your yet to buy 4K TV, if you want to print, why not shoot in 20mp and then crop the part you want???

I would have expected a higher resolution 16:9 option too, but this isn't the final offering.

Look at the picture again, examine it more closely this time.

Also, the screen does not look like its 5 inches.

Hi xdomino996, you basically have 2 options out of the box in 16:9 + the option to make (almost) anything you need for print:
- 2MP to view on your phone or full hd tv.
- 8MP to view on your 4K TV
- in 16:9, up to 5248x2952 for print, so up to 20 inch diagonal in 300 dpi (usual for photos), Or 40 inch for a 16:9 poster, with 150 dpi, some people say it is enough, it depends how close you are when looking at it.

Depends what you expect from your phone, I would say it is at least decent, no?

EDIT: Not taking too much risks, I would say it meets 99% of the needs of 99% of people, which is probably the market Sony targets. I know we will find people desperately needing more from a phone, objectively prefer Windows and slower CPUs, and don't bring their Cannon/Nikon with them when rock-climbing. Then Honami is just not for them, maybe some other vendor will try to fill that niche
