So the international version will also have Mobile BIONZ?
and a 2/3" Exmor RS!, now that would explain the 9mm thickness despite size of the sensor.

Yes, a few mm, its a few mm longer and wider than the Z which is already huge, so much so that the company itself decided to make a smaller version. so again, yes the water proofing is no exchange for a size. and lets be completely honest, i only care about storage, cpu, ram, res (quality), and LTE which is why i passed on the ZL .. the s4 pro couple that with the faded screen, so far its looking like a great decision, delay of gratification. nothing is hitting all of my notes recently everything is just slightly off and if im spending 700$ theres no way im not getting what i want, so ill continue to save my money.
IIRC zomg had noted months ago that we won't be seeing a flagship phone on the scale of the ZL until 2014 so if you can hold out that long you might get the size you want.
moores law every 18 mos we should double so we should be close to 8x the internal storage. ie 256GB. since this hasnt happened, i will settle for 64 as it is more than i have now, but thats sad that its so rare that i have to have this conversation.
Moores Law talks about what is technologically achievable, not what's economically achievable. Sure Sony COULD put far more memory into Honami, or offer multiple variants - the tech is already there. The question is whether there's enough market demand to justify doing so, and the resulting price hike. We already know Sony puts a lot of time into market research, and if they do not offer higher capacity variants of Honami, my guess is their market research told them that the majority find that to be a low priority.
Also, I do wonder if they intentionally keep internal memory low because they want to get people into the mindset of using cloud options.
youre telling me, that its not economically viable to increase storage internally? of all the components to add i wouldnt think the extra storage would add too much to the cost. the thing is that we dont need different skus, a 128gb phone covers the person who only wants 16, it doesnt hurt being there, it does hurt not being there... either way its suffocating, the higher res videos, pictures and applications and the internal storage is stuck in time 4 years ago, theres NO excuse. |

I used Google Translator photo thing from app to translate the info, so some things won't make sense. I will just tell what it is written as the app says. Pardon the errors.

Do they quote the source or can you ask?
Either way i think it is fan/media made, because Docomo/Sony would not write "better properties than xperia z" for the antiscattering film

I don't pretend to have first hand knowledge, but I've seen it posted on either here, GAF or XDA that internal memory is actually quite expensive. It's kinda like why SSDs are bloody expensive compared to standard HDDs.
So to fulfil your request Sony would either have to have multiple SKUs, or do a single large SKU where either the price is far higher, or they keep the price the same and it eats into their profit margin. |

lot of new SD class 10 cards are now affordable and it can go up to 64gb,so I guess Sony is not worried about the internal memory

About the internal storage, I think 16gb and 32gb would be the most one would ever need now as long as it has a microSD slot, besides, it is better to store videos, photos and music on a microSD card because if anything happens on the phone, you can still get your files on the SD card via card reader. Just how huge are android apps anyway?
Only time I think one would need a huge internal storage is if Honami does record 4k and it needs the very fast read and write speed of internal storage, as far as I know these fast internal storage are expensive and could easily turn off a lot of potential buyers if they find the price too high for what they would need.

@reeflotz.. you can save your time buddy. there have been debates on this topic on this thread many times and it just comes down to a matter of preference. some people are fine using an external SD card and cloud storage, while others simply want everything built in. for me, i like SD and cloud, but everyone has their own preference.
anyway.. 2.5 more days til something happens in Paris! I can't wait.. i might even stay up in th emiddle of the night just to wait for it..
btw is there gonna be a live stream?

yeah you are right , just thought I'd share my view on that one, anyway the camera startup sound Ambroos posted a while back from the system dump is exactly the same as the ones used on cybershot digicams
