The presentation will not be honamis togaris together, but they soon will be followed by a presentation honamis. This seems to be the last one in June or mid-July. I will go on sale in August. Information obtained from the Japanese. Retain some confidential

I hasten to add that I think will have lights Xenon

So the Honami will release in August!

OT, but it's like MS isn't just shooting itself in the foot, they cut off their own legs!

that article smells of bullshit to me. sounds like satire once you read the reasons.

anyway.. back on topic..

@nightwing seriously? nobody knows! speculation of when it will be released has been given MANY times. take your pick and wait for a surprise.

moving on..

as far as honami design, i kind of HOPE it's not a glass body like the Z. If there is a camera bump, having a glass body like the Z probably isn't feasible right? In any case, I would love honami to have some unique design lines. While the Z is gorgeous with its simplistic design, I think Sony can deliver simple with a unique twist.

Stylus support is welcome, though on a 5" device, I don't see much need for it unless you like to doodle a lot or wish to take small, handwritten notes often.

Hi, as an indication of how honami could do against the galaxy s4 that may get s800, it is interesting to look at how the xperia A is doing against galaxy s4 in Japan, as they have been launched at the same time and are both docomo flagships for the summer collection.

We now have the numbers for the month following the launch of both models. The best point of comparison is the month following galaxy s3 and xperia acro hd launches in 2012. They both took about 10% market share in the following month, although they did not launch at the same time.

So back to may 2013, Xperia A: 20%, Galaxy S4: 10%.

Clearly something is different in the perception of Sony phones.

I think that honami will be positioned at a higher rank than xperia A in term of flagship, so it could do better than Xperia A.

I really hope high end Sony phones come with waterpoof Walkman earphones that have controls. Also, it would be nice to see "bouncing icons effect" from the PS Vita OS added to their UPX. Just my two cents.

I really doubt that they won't put a xenon flash on a camera centric smartphone.. it doesn't make any sense.

If its water proof.. to me that would be a pretty significant advantage over the Nokia offering.

On topic, EOS and honami will be better than the galaxy zoom in image quality. Honami will be most peoples favourite out of those two due to android. And the next year Sony flagship will be even more ahead of the competition overall. This is the beginning, the only thing that can reduce Sony's momentum now is Nokia embracing android.

10m is a low target. I hope there are no periods of honami being out of stock...

Don't forget the 808..I am still not sure that the EOS will have better IQ than the Symbian version.. at least with the initial firmware.

As far as weight, that big sensor requires space, and a big lens.. so I think it will be minimum 160 grams, especially considering the big screen.

If, as rumour would have it, Honami is 180g, then what on earth might be causing all the extra weight? The W900i was one huge phone and even that isn't anywhere near that weight.

Is it materials? Some extra imaging hardware? It just doesn't make a lot of sense right now.

That's probably the best explanation we'll ever have. A sum 10mm thin phone could never be that weight unless it was made of lead - or gold.

I disagree. A good sensor is *everything*. Unless the flash is a pop-up unit that can be bounced off a ceiling, then it's only good for lighting up people's faces and leaving everything else dark.

If Xenon is not essential for a good picture it wouldn't be in 99.9% of all cameras. Dual LED isn't comparable with Xenon as it's only good for videos.

Sensor is much more important than Xenon. The latter is only really a slight advantage and something you'd want on a spec checklist.
