Very nice bit of changes there Rikken, how's the battery life so far with the new FW?
Samsung has done a great job with this 4.1.2 JB FWs, my GS3 has been running beautifully since I updated.

That OTA was a nice small download.I downloaded and flashed the Polish 4.1.2 firmware from Sammobile when it was released a couple of weeks back and the zipped file was +-900mb's.Unzipped about 1.5GB. The size of a N2 rom is insane.

Tsepz
Whats the size of the S3's Samsung firmware?

Yep, size of GS3 ROMs are around the same, nearly fainted when I 1st saw the size of the original JB ROM. The latest UK Android4.1.2 ROM (XELLA) that I loaded in my S3 has been the largest, the zip was around 890mb, once I extracted the zip it went up to 1.1GB I remember the largest FW for the GS2 being almost half that.
That's the price we pay for not waiting for VodaCom to release the OTA.

Tsepz_GP, battery life seems to be pretty much the same, need a couple of more days of usage to find out.

About the small OTA file, can it be because it contain only the new features ?

That is exactly it Rikken, the OTA updates generally contain just the new features, while the full FWs Hobbs and I download are the entire Firmware including things that are not updated.

I am wondering whether these cores can be utilized properly or is this just a contest to say that we have more cores than they do. Aside from that these are awesome specs if true.

Was gonna get an S2 or an S3 but now thinking of getting a Note 2 my only concerns are the size.

I notice the camera is very very good but can someone tell me is it hard to use with the size?

Also is the flash very bright? does it have the 20 shot burst mode like the S3 as well?

Thanks.

The size is perfect. Screen is large, but the phone is well sized, thin and light. After using the phone for a short while, it makes other phones look too small.

Camera is easy to use with many features. It has burst mode (I think it's 9 photos)

Flash is particularly bright. Much better than my Sony Acro flash. Makes a great LED assist light!

Tsepz Not bothering with that update. My Note 2 is perfectly set
up at the moment running the latest MIUI V5.
The longer the 4.2.2 update takes the longer I have with my MIUI rom

How beautiful is this redesigned MIUI V5

Stunning!
MIUI still has the best custom ROM UI I've ever seen, must look incredible on a Super AMOLED display. You're tempting me Hobbs!
