The company plans to do so via an application compatibility layer. That will allow apps to run without any issues on MeeGo, with OpenMobile, the company behind the ACL, saying that there’s no performance loss. Apps should also behave correctly as the software makes use of the Android runtime environment and Dalvik virtual machine, allowing for full compatibility.

N9 was a phone that caught my attention immediately. I was even happier when i played with one. When i heard that no more phone will come out, reminded me the Satio thing (no future support). Finally I'm glad the project goes on. I have faith in Jolla. A good hardware will bring it to light again.

Love it too, we need more competition!
I have both the N900 and N9, both excellent phones, and the N9 is beautiful!
Would've bought a successor from Nokia immediately, but now with Jolla, I'm not sure about the hardware, waiting for first-hand user-experience from some real owners.
