Nielsen: Most tablet/smartphone users watch TV at same time |

The majority of smartphone and tablet owners in the US use their mobile device several times a week while watching television, according to survey data published by Nielsen. The trend was shown to be strongest in the US, where 88 percent of tablet owners and 86 percent of smartphone owners reported simultaneous usage at least once in a 30-day period.
Nearly half of American tablet owners use the device at least once a day while watching TV, while more than a quarter of the respondents reported simultaneous use several times a day. Smartphone usage is said to be only slightly lower.

I use my iPad 2 all the time whilst the tv is on.... You only have to use twitter to see a vast majority of people do, most trending topics end up being about reality tv shows or sports events...

Exactly. I even got over my limit on twitter while a local award were on TV.

Not a suprising result there though.
I often do a lot more listening than watching as my eyes are 70% of the time looking at my GS2 or GTab10.1 screen.
