I have no idea what it is, can it be some kind of pressure thing? i have only used 20-30% brightness since i bought my arc so i don't think it's due to some kind of "burning"

Strange. I ordered a new HTC One X a week back so in like 6 weeks i will retire my old Arc but i would still like to know how and why the screen has this tint. if you have 2 spots and i 1, there must be many more? i guess some people don't notice it thou.

Today I discovered a yellow tint on my arc's upper left side of the screen. I've been noticing something (lighter) at this part of the screen recently, especially with dark backgrounds, but today, it was very clear dirty yellow tint. However, after I left the screen off for a while it disappeared. Also, its intensity increased the more the screen stayed on. I was bored and was just playing around with the phone!

To my surprise, I bought my phone from UAE, and I live in Egypt. I called Egypt and they said it's not covered by warranty in Egypt, so, now I either pay for repairs, or have it dropped to UAE for repairs....bugger!

I've been using even from when it was Ericsson, my first phone was GF768, but today, I really started considering buying another Android phone after my arc.

This looks as though the yellow tint issue is something past Xperias have suffered from.... Bit strange if Sony have dealt with this issue before and haven't included the fix on this model's software.

I never heard of this before i noticed it on mine the other day. Also a SE fanboi, my first was t20e from ~01 (yeah i know i was late, but phones back then did not interest me. even thou i am 31 this year ) late blomer?

Btw my screen is of during night, should be enough? my tint is only visible on light(read allmost white) backgrounds
Using a black background for a like 2 months, i only noticied it in the facebook app, it can have been there longer

The new Xperia S has yellow tint too, mine being one of them., and it's widespread as a number of Xperia S users have been complaining about this.

Hope that is not a screen burn issue like in nexus one. A pic of the screen may be helpful

It didn't happen again YET, so can't get a photo, and I actually use my phone as my main camera, but, what do you guys think? Is it a hardware issue or software issue? I can see someone posted that didn't fix it in their updates! I also, called Xperia support here in Egypt and they advised me to factory reset the phone before attempting drop it for repairs!
