They should get rid of chroma noise from iso 50-100 daytime shots and lower sharpening levels first. Chroma noise has been S(E) problem for ages and nothing has been done about it. |

Man ... can't we all enjoy a smartphone for what its worth and not singularly complain about a particular feature/function BEFORE the device is available to ALL that are complaining?!!
- we're getting to be like old ladies here.
Lets reserve critical judgement until we have the unit in our hands and can fully take it through all its paces, no?

Everyone is talking about prices and such on Europe, but there isn't ANYTHING related to USA? I'm goin' to buy there, and it can't be much more expensive. I think it should hit US stores (online or not) somewhere in March with a cost of something around US$450~500. Using, as base, price comparations between Xperia Arc in US and Europe, as the numbers are the same.
I'm goin' to get a white one, it's a sexy beast.
About the camera, it's awesome. Some photos scattered around this topic are ''more or less'', but the rest is fine for me. I don't use too much of my camera on my X10 MP, but maybe start using this sexy beast.
I don't get people. Never Have, never will. |

The camera, although initially not appearing to be much better than the Arc does seem to have slightly toned down the saturation and the compression, although could be better, it's not so heavy as the Arc, evident by the file sizes 3-4mb as oppose to 1mb on the Arc.
Saying that, the Arc's photos aren't bad, focus is good and it is alway spot on in terms of white-balance and auto shots, it's always been about the compression with SE of late. |

I agree with ROG and others, I'd much prefer detail over noise. And heck, even most point and shoot cameras have a lot of noise in low light shots at high ISO settings. So I wouldn't really call the Xperia S shots unimpressive at all.
BTW how many here know that the Samsung Galaxy S II uses a SONY camera sensor ? |

Quick question: does anyone know if the Facebook app decides to show the lifeline layout based on the screen size of the phone? On the Xperia s, it shows the lifeline layout (looks beautiful!), on my ray there is still the old layout. Both apps have the same version.
Any ideas?
[update] forget about the question, just found the solution, have to switch to the right view, dooh

rog,
How does the phone feel in the hand - what would you say the build quality is like compared to the Arc say?

Hmm, how does it feel in the hand - I would say more solid, more "serious" than the arc. Where as the arc definitely feels more "elegant", due to its form factor.

I hope Face Book Inside Xperia is improved in new Sony models if they do it. I always found it makes my Ray lag so I use the browser instead.
