Samsung has earlier reported that they will sell over 300 million handsets in 2011. This number is expected to increase to 372 million in 2012

Samsung Mobile predicted sales 2012 

Samsung is closing the gap to market leader Nokia. Samsung is the second largest manufacture of mobile phones in the world and the company overtook Apple in the third quarter as the worlds largest smartphone seller. The South Korean company has increased its market share the last couple of months. And the latest reports from Q3 2011 says 22.3% of all sold mobile phones was made by Samsung.

According to Indian Times, Samsung aims to make 374 million mobile phones in 2012. A 15% increase compared to 2011. Out of the 374 million mobile phones, 150 million is smartphones. Nokia is expected to sell 5% less handset, down to 399 million units.
