Looks like it will be almost impossible to see S4 powered devices en masse this year, even the S4 powered LG quadcore would be a rare specie

http://news.softpedia.com/new[....]hortages-All-Year-279389.shtml

Honestly why can't TSMC improve their manufacturing facilities? It's not hard to think that since they are the main choice of multiple fabless semicon companies like nvidia, qualcomm and AMD they have been earning billions of $$$. but why is still their production capability sucked compared to intel?. they can build more production facilities with all those cash they earned but it seems like they're not doing what they are supposed to do.

Harold de Kort:
'From now on I'll definitely use the geo-tagging function! yfrog.com/o0r4uoop. New gallery on the Xperia S is nice!'

Wouter Boender:
'Yeah it's good shit isn't it? Was actually supposed to be for IFA. The new Xperia's (Xperiences) are going to be highlighted there. So the idea was to keep it quiet until then. That shit rocks!'

Harold de Kort:
'Alright, I'll be a little less enthusiastic about it, and about the other things. It's going to be hard not to!'

@Rubenos,

so lets me get this correctly, the new apps starting from Xperia S new gallery app is a part of new Xperia Xperiences like new apps, all of these was supposed to be highlighted in IFA...

if this is correct, how come the apps are already in Xperia S and IFA will be held in 31st Aug. to 5th Sept. ??
Are they planning on highlighting 3 months old apps ? or the thing that Harold was showing is still under development and only he and some other beta-testers can see and test ?

The gallery on my SXS is different. It won't show a globe even if it was zoomed out

Sony Mobile moving HQ from Sweden to Tokyo on October 1st

Late last year Sony Ericsson moved its headquarters to Lund, Sweden from London and now just six months later Sony Mobile plans to move HQ again. This time Sony Mobile will move its headquarters to Japan and expects the move to take place on 1st October 2012.

Sony Mobile already has a large base in Lund and it’s unclear at this stage exactly which functions will be moving across. We would imagine that the development teams would remain in Lund, but nothing is certain right now. It would be sad to lose the influence of the Lund Sony Mobile teams, so let’s hope this isn’t a wholesale move.

I'm also looking for the next Nexus wave, as I'm really considering one to be my next phone after arc, specially after Galaxy Nexus and only one month wait for JB !! so I hope they come with a high-end Nexus phone.. I wonder what will JB be using as the main SoC as ICS used TI as a main SoC... currently JB is using Tegra on the tablet but I don't think it will be the one in the phones ( lake of radio part ) this will judge what will the next Nexus will use

JB is using Tegra 3 for tablets an TI OMAP4 for phones, sure it's being ported to other SoCs now. Question is what Key Lime Pie (Android 5?) will use around the end of the year. Omap5? Multiple?

Lol, Sony let Ericsson have some months to keep them happy about letting their share go. They will probably close down all of its swedish facilities eventually

Oh hey guys, lookee here. Sony's finally started selling the Xperia P in the US:

.... at a price higher than an unsubsized Xperia ion.

ew, that's disgusting.

but i'm not surprised. sony always sells things off their website at inflated prices. i mean, the arc S can be purchased for $300ish from reputable sellers.

Indeed. Thank goodness for Newegg; they're selling it at a more reasonable $388 (oooo they've got the Sola for $299.....).

my favorite reseller, mobile city online, has the arc s for $299...even has the XS imported for $480, and american version (didn't know there was one) for pre-order at $499...

sony needs to stop gouging its prices and make them move. the more they flood the market, the better! but, they've done it since forever as its their way of making up the insane R&D costs they put into their tech and features. So, i doubt it'll change anytime soon.

I'm gonna be asking my buddy in tokyo if docomo sells unlocked devices and if not, how much they charge to unlock, so i can possibly import the GX. If there's no announcement for an international GX or Mint soon, that's the route i'll be taking...

newegg has the arc s for 269.99. I'm itching to get a new phone but I'm still waiting for the right one, lol. I had my mouse over the buy now button for the galaxy nexus from the playstore a few weeks ago (before Apple banned it, dick).
