I dont think Sony is a charity, selling it that low priced. Low end phones qre an important part of the company. Look at Nokia, more than half of their sells are low end. If you dont like it, dont buy it. Also, all sony fb announcements are for low end phones and the fact that you can fast forward the announcement also proved that it will be some "crap" that can be announced anytime anywhere.

Why did they feel the need to announce the miro, when the U, sola and even Go have already filled up its market niche.

This made my day, thanks mariozlp!!

I, for one, am going to support Sony next year when they release their quad-core phone. Everything they have for this year is just not making me want to buy. The Hayabusa is nice but...

According to the press release, miro has a 800mhz qualcomm soc, same as tipo. It seems to be the followup to x8

By the way in Japanese, "Miro" is a blunt form of "Miru" which means "look"

It's named after the artist famous for bold use of colour?

So, we have Xperia U, P, Sola, Tipo , Tipo Dual in the order of appearance in the table...

Plus Xperia Go, Miro and Ion, GX, SX. That means that on the 20th of the month 1 or 2 new devices will be announced. Or we might get the international versions of SX and GX.

Is it wrong if i was impressed by miro and i like the looks of it? And that i can look forward to the 20th for higher end phone?

I think miro is what sola should have been, and i think its atlas or lotus in the table? Price and spec wise it is closely related to the U. Moreover, its funny how tapioca has 1500mah battery, and even has long battery life written on their video :@.

I think it's a good move from Sony. Maybe they try to attract its fans and other costumers who can't buy Xperia P, U, S, Sola, etc. And I have a question. Maybe it's a stupid question ever. Some people in Indonesia (probably Sony haters) said that Xperia Tipo is look like Chinese mobile phone. Is it? For me, it's not look like that or any other mobile phone from other manufacturers...

You're not alone. I too prefer the looks of the Miro to the Sola !

The yellow/gold bottom one especially looks awesome !!

Also Miro is AFFM

I believe it was mentioned there won't be any mini successors. There will be a Pro successor though, as Rog confirmed earlier.
Anyway overall things look quite good for Sony right now. The Xperia U,P, Sola are selling like hotcakes and no doubt the Miro, Tipo and Tipo Dual will too especially in developing countries. The Xperia Go and Acro S should also sell quite well.

Going by the sales momentum thus far, I predict 2012 annual sales for Sony Xperia to be around 40 million +.

Which is great !! A huge increase over last year. 2013 should be even better

Is this true? I would LOVE to believe this, but have we any evidence of it?

Anyway, why do ppl keep saying that Sony is releasing similar handsets that compete with themselves? I think now that the more models they release, the wider range of users the brand will appeal to, the more operators will pick up Sony handsets, and the more choice consumers will have when choosing phones. Not everyone is looking to buy a 4.6" monster eh, most ppl look to buy something affordable and not overly huge.

So by all means Sony, flood the market!

I still need clarification on this.

Olive = what name and number??
Lotus = name and number??

I guess they are Arco S and Go right?

Are we missing any code names, model numbers or release names? or are we on target by the leaked map?

Spec list for Miro here in case noone has seen it:

http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_miro-4831.php

2 years ago almost to the month, the X10 Mini was released. This phone was considered low-to-mid range at the time, and the specs have barely improved since then....

http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3125&idPhone2=4831

I don't normally complain about Sony on here, but this is a poor show!
