But, I prefer Sony uses their current success in SLR and mirror less SLR and even simple point of shoot cameras and put more R&D in that areas and they can do it...
SLR means Single Lens Reflex camera. Sony haven't made any new ones for a few years now. They've moved to SLT (Single Lens Translucent mirror camera) and MILCs (Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera). The last means you simply can't have a single lens reflex mirrorless camera

Just to remind everyone, 19th June is the first day of CommunicAsia
I'd like to think the low end phone is Tapioca, and high end Hayabusa but who knows.
I'm very much hoping Hayabusa has MirrorLink like the new Galaxy S III |

Are we expecting any other phones to be announced? CommunicAsia is a big event is it not?

After the new Sony RX100 was anounced bearing 1" sensor on a shirt-pocket size form (close to a mobile phone dimensions 6 years ago, I was wondering if Sony would show their answer to Nokia's pureview. once again Sony proved us that a 1" sensor + wide angle + large aperture and (not exactly long) zoom lens could coexist on a small package. Sony could've thrown that 1" sensor on an Xperia XXX and call it a day

Also for those uninformed, sensors used by Nikon 1-series ILCs were also made by Sony. it seems to me that Nikon have one-year exclusiveness for whatever special Sony is developing before Sony themselves can use it to their own products. any insights @randomuser?

Yes. Nikon have a one year exclusive access to the 36mp sensor as well. But then again, no loss for Sony as Sony gets the money for the 1 year exclusivity Nikon enjoys on certain sensors. |

Sony isn't attending CommunicAsia, the find that the confention is to small and not a lot of big names. If everything goes well i'll receive my invite tomorrow. They already found another place to present there new models. This is coming directly from the marketing & pr manager from holland. I'll post a copy of the invite tomorrow if he's ok with it, else i'll post the date and place . |
