So the reason why we'll only see Lt30 mint on H2 2012 is because Sony is waiting for this and the production S4 Pro chips. looks like Mint would pack some serious specs to take away GSIII's crown I wonder how good their OLEDs are compared to Samsung's.

I'm planing to replace my Arc later this year, that's why I'm waiting for Mint very badly, I just hope it will worth all the wait...
my wait doesn't mean I want it to see it now ( official announcement or leaked ) but I hope Sony uncover it just days before hard launching it... 1 month maximum will be perfect !! announcement in mid/late august and release in September will be perfect...

Tbf, both Sony''s fb polls and unknown13x had been dropping hints about a waterproof phone, but if it is the gxi or the active2, we don't know

The Electronista article says " HTC will use the 4.3-inch AMOLED displays
from AU Optronics in its One S
smartphone, while Sony is expected use
them in the leaked LT30i Mint 1 , which will
be its first quad-core smartphone"
Quad core. Is Sony giving a relook to its 2012 plans?

I am really, really hoping they use the S4 quad-core processor. If they do then this will be my first Sony phone. I am just not pro-Amoled, Sony's LCDs are just perfect for my needs but I guess I will have to live with it if it is quad-core.

I believe it is ready. The LG Eclipse is also coming out with that processor this year.
I suppose if we look at Sony's roadmap dates it looks unlikely that the Mint will be running the quad-core processor. In that case, I will wait till next year for a quad-core Sony phone. I am not going to be bothered by whatever 'high-end' processor that will come next year, quad-core is future-proof enough for me.

The APQ8064 will be available around Q4 but is not intended to be used in phones since it does not come with any Wireless Radio Technologies.
The MSM8974 a quad core partial clocked between 2GHz and 2.5GHz with 2MB L2 memory that will support both LTE, HSPA+ and TD-SCDMA is supposed to be available in Q1/Q2 2013. And it will have better graphics because unlike a dual prior SoC, this one has dual LPDDR3 memory.

Yes APQ8064 doesn't come with wireless radios but that doesn't mean that it won't be used in phones. LG and HTC are gonna using it later this year. |

That is not an efficient solution at all since they have to use a separate wireless radio that will drain a lot of battery.
That is most likely part of the reason why Sony will not make a quad-core phone this year.
Battery life is becoming more and more critical to a lot of people and LG and HTC are taking short cuts just to have a quad-core phone.
In my opinion it is not the ideal solution. |

You forgot one important info that I left that "it's much more than that" Not only the active successor, how about the XS's replacement? We're having a new S added to the family tree.
From Unknown13x
Along with Active 2, Xperia S replacement will also be announced
(Personally I am feeling really bad having bought my XS just 3 weeks back )
