it just seem Steve giving a breathing space for Nokia and RIM now with 4S.
since it can likely draw people who like unique ID away as 4S look like iPHONE4
of course for those who need the power...its still an interesting product on spec. |

Actually Nokia&RIM won't get any advantage from the release of the 4S - their products are way subpar in comparison. But for Android, it's a different story. |

This is a very unpredictable industry, there is no such thing as giving breathing space to competition, just ask Nokia, it took one average product (N97) for customers to leave and find something more exciting which was the iPhone3GS at the time as well as the HTC Hero.
With Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the ICS devices coming as well as the Nokia Windows Phones, and new RIM devices, Apple may be in a bit of a pickle, no doubt the 4S will sell, but I doubt it will do as well as they expect, I could be wrong though.

Well the 3GS sold well after the 3G. I wouldn't say RIM are much of a threat to Apple sales. Maybe Nokia might be because i have a feeling many people are curious about the new Nokia Windows devices. Me included

This is Samsung's opening. Nothing exciting, just playing catch up with rest. 1080p, dual core processor more ram? Nothing new, nothing fancy. The other manufacturers just need to make the integration of these items as smooth as Apple does.
I see Samsung is claiming that Apple is infringing on their 3g patents.

 But with Android and dual core it is as fluid as iOS. I for one hated the Safari browser. Has the ram increased in the new iphone??

Apple is not letting on on the amount of ram but as soon as they are available to the public no doubt someone will find out the amount of RAM. There is little doubt that they would increase the RAM however. Recording 1080p videos and playback will require them to have more.
I don't see a reason for paying more for a phone that remains more or less tethered to Apple and now catching up to Android than for an SGS2, Nexus Prime or SGS3

I actually wish they hadnt bothered to be honest. I really do. I think the iPhone 4 design is great, i think its powerful enough for what it can do. I think the camera is great but not market leading, everything about the iPhone 4 was cool, great and fun. They should have just updated the software to iOS 5 imo, like Nokia are doing with Symbian Belle.
This 4S is so unecessary to me because of its price point. Yeah theres still the 3GS and 4, but the problem with those is the 3GS looks old and obsolete compared to the 4 and 4S, whilst the 4 is still too much like the 4S. They even look identical. They should now knock the 3GS into the history books, stick the 4 down to 150 on payg in the UK and keep the 4S at a mid range price. To think Apple are charging the same wad of cash for something that has only had a minor upgrade is robbery.

The iphone down to 150 on pay as you go?? Dream on That is cheaper than the ipod touch. They would probably do 150+ 200 top up Apple should also put some settings in the camera too

A 4.3'' screen would've been nice. I am really underwhelmed by the overall package. On another note, the iPhone was never really about impressive specs but the user experience and so I expect it to be impressive in that area.
The screen size bothers me a great deal!
