Some of the incompatibility and other issues with Xperia Arc S running ICS.

1) Compatibility issue with Windows Vista 64-bit whereby USB tethering would result in BSOD with the prompt IRQL NOT EQUAL OR LESS almost everytime. This never happened before with GB 2.3

2) Slight hissing sound after unlocking the slider lock.

3) Equalizer app unable to run. This is an integral app for my audio experience. Since Sony did not provide any custom equalizer option, they should ensure other alternatives can function flawlessly.

4) Phone hangs and freezes when connecting to the computer via USB on Windows Vista 64-bit and can only be rebooted by taking the battery out

5) Camera is missing Macro Mode which was a much used feature in Xperia Arc S running GB

6) Connectivity options lesser than before, I miss plugging in my phone to the USB cable without having to connect to any mtp or msc mode

7) Videos above 720p doesn't play well, gets stuck intermittently which is really irritating

Good points for ICS on Arc S

1) Improved camera with captured image compression ranging from 1.6mb to 2mb for 6mp resolution

2) Cool to have a comprehensive and reliable native data usage counter

3) Very polished looking UI

4) Able to play video formats other than mp4 and 3gp natively but choppy playback nevertheless.

5) Native zoom to full crop so that I don't have to use that crappy Large Image Viewer anymore

6) Love it that the call icon brings up both call list and dial pad and that dial pad automatically minimizes as soon as the call list is scrolled.

That's I have for now folks. Overall I feel as if I have a new phone in my hand which is exactly what I had hoped for

Thinking of getting the Arc S as it is a bargain right now while waiting for the ION. Which is the better color, white or black? Also, should I update to ICS or stick with Gingerbread?

Thanks

I prefer the black one.

Does anybody else find this phone to get scorching hot very easily after the last update?
Currently NExus 4, but want Xperia ZR.

How have you guys rooted your phones? I've tried rootunlock which tells me the unlock was successful but I still can't delete the bloat files.
