Hi guys
Thinking of replacing my old T-mobile G2 with a new phone. And to be honest I am kinda tired of typing on a touchscreen. So basically I am considering to devices...both of which are not yet released! Xperia Pro and the Xperia Mini Pro (not to be confused with the X10 mini pro)
I was wondering which ones you guys reckon is the better choice???
Here are my thoughts:
Xperia Pro
+ Higher Res
+ HDMI out
+ Exmor R camera sensor
+ Slimmer
- Other dimensions on the bigger side
- Side placement of 3.5mm jack
- Probably not as snappy as Xperia Mini Pro (since it has same processor but higher res)
Xperia Mini Pro
+ Smaller
+ Top Placement of 3.5mm jack
+ Probably snappier than Xperia Pro (since it has the same processor but lower res)
+ Four Corner Shortcut UI seems quite nice for single handed operation
- Lower Res
- No HDMI out
- No Exmor R camera sensor (although it has an Aperture f/2.6 so might be good)
- Thicker |

Same problem for me. For now I go for MiniPro but I want to feel them first.

yeah i guess you are right! you need to actually see how the device is in real life before you can really decide! are both meant to be coming out in June? |

I'd get the Xperia Pro, that 854x480 3.7" display should be magnificent, also majority of apps and games are compatible with the higher res Androids, Xperia Pro's keyboard also looks better spaced out especialy for someone coming the G2 which is also quite large and has a well spaced out keyboard.

Release dates are very unsure at the moment.
Tsepz has a good point about screen resolution.

yeah it appears Xperia Pro has been delayed to end of July it seems and even though O2 claim to have the Xperia Mini Pro coming in June I am very skeptical!
while having a bigger screen and higher res is great...I would definitely choose smoother performance over it
going by Xperia X10 even though it had a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor you could at times see the lag in animations which in my opinion spoils the user experience....while the Xperia X10 mini pro had a 600Mhz because it had QVGA screen all the interactions with it have been buttery smooth!!! (almost iphone like...if i may say so) |
