Pierre Peron, Sony Ericsson's France CEO about Xperia Play pricing in France :
It will cost less than 600 euros without contract...launch in April
"S'il n'est pas une PlayStation Portable (PSP ou NGP) à proprement parler, le téléphone qui sera lancé début avril, bénéficie de "l'engagement des leaders mondiaux" de l'édition de jeux qui vont créer une gamme de jeux "spécifiquement conçus et compatibles avec Android", souligne-t-il. Ces jeux sur smartphones vont également pouvoir bénéficier des spécificités de ces téléphones intelligents comme la géolocalisation, et ils seront téléchargeables par wi-fi sur l'Android Market, pour des sommes allant de 5 à 10 euros, selon Pierre Perron. Ce téléphone haut de gamme devrait être vendu "un peu moins de 600 euros", nu, c'est-à-dire sans subvention des opérateurs."

@smclion102: I mean, why a different name for the same product?
The "a" is for the americas. Not for the US only.
I assume the "at" is for at&t?

optimized Snapdragon processor
What do they mean by optimised ? Is the Snapdragon CPU that they put in there special and unique to SE or did they just up the frequency by 10mhz or something? |

looks good, never thought i would be into gaming on phones until i got my Iphone 4, so this could be interesting at least one advantage over my iphone is Physical buttons for Gaming much better than touch screen.

Yeah, I just been playing asphalt on my X10 and it looks much more fun with physical buttons on the Play.

since the s.e x play is geared towards gaming where performance is paramount , does this mean s.e will not load the firmware with useless junk that runs in the background and chews ul CPU time such as face detection ? |
